This is truly one of the better large gospel choral groups recording today. Their music is an original blend of traditional black gospel with contemporary Christian sounds. The soloists are particularly strong in this recording.

As a choir director myself, I'm always amazed at the precision this group achieves in diction and rhythm. I usually have trouble getting my 20-voice group to sing together -- getting a group of 250+ singers to do the same thing at the same time is truly an accomplishment!

Of particular note are the cuts "Favorite Song of All," "Field of Souls," and my personal favorite "Order My Steps." The soloists are spectacular -- an even more impressive accomplishment when you consider that this entire CD put together from recordings of three Sunday services at the Brooklyn Tabernacle.

If you're looking for a prime example of the best of current gospel singing, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL, May 9, 2000

A FAN FROM HEMET, CA. CONGRADULATIONS ON THIS WONDERFUL CD. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. THIS IS MOST PROBABLY THE BEST CHOIR IN THE U.S IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIFTED, AND INSPIRED THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS WORLD THAT WILL MOVE YOU. THIS CHOIR SINGS SO FROM THE HEART, AND SOUL. THE CHOIR, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF CAROL CYMBALA DEMONSTRATES CLEARLY THAT MUSIC CAN BE MORE THAN WORDS, AND NOTES, BUT RATHER AN EXPERIENCE THAT CAN LEAD ONE INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD....WHAT A TRULY MAGNIFICENT EXPERIENCE...THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Well folks, this is one CD that you need to buy. It is uplifting, encouraging, and is just plain great music! I listen to it while driving, cleaning house, or washing dishes, and it never fails in getting me to turn my heart towards Our Father and truly worship. Don't miss this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another alb of inspiring music from the Tabernacle Choir, October 19, 1999

This review is from: Favorite Song of All (Audio CD)
So many outstanding tracks, one doesn't know where to start -- so start at the beginning! The title track tells the story and is followed by one of the most soul-filling worships-in-music "Use Me"! I particularly like the ballad-type tracks, but the rock-'em-sock'em gospel songs are here as well. Close your eyes and worship as you listen. My only regret is that Carol Cymbala doesn't record more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Call me a sucker, but I just love this album and this choir., December 5, 1998

Here are the same ingredients, lush arrangements, worshipful singing, and lastly that peculiar sensitivity that only Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir possess. This is the groups main strength. The song "Still I will Trust Him," is Brooklyn at it's best-a rather run of the mill praise song, that the choir makes it's own by the last refrain. God has touched this group, turning what should be rather mundane worship songs into heartfelt statements made more powerful by the multi cultural voices singing them. "Calvary Came Through Once Again," is a bit over produced but there is a feminine power in the song that overshadows the orchestration. I grew up listening to R and B, Rock bands, and all of the seventies confessional singers, but I am always moved by this choir sooner or later. To God be the glory for His special annointing on this group.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritually uplifting, November 18, 1998
This review is from: Favorite Song of All (Audio CD)
I could not say one song is better than the other as each one has its own special message. I found myself caught up in the inspirational message of each and every song. The realization that God loves me and that my day of salvation was his favorite song of all, makes me want my steps to be guided in his word. I want to be used of him and join in to bring the gospel message to others. The Brooklyn Tabernacle is my favorite choir of all time. I have never been disappointed by ther music and have always been encouraged by their message.

This is one of my favorite CDs. I love all the songs, especially Favorite Song of All, He'll Welcome Me, and Use Me. Our church choir sings both He'll Welcome Me and Use Me. I would recommend this CD to anyone who loves Gospel Music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first time I heard this choir, I feel in love!, March 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Favorite Song of All (Audio CD)
My Youth Pastor at the time had introduced me to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. When I heard them sing I feel in love with them. I have had the BTC in my collection of Gospel Music for the past five years! There music is very inspirational to hear and sing. I attend the Church of God at Palmetto Street in Florence, South Carolina and we sing Brooklyn Tabernacle Music in our church. Songs like "He'll Welcome Me" and "Heaven Medley" has become a great blessing to the congregation. If you are looking for a great Gospel Album, then look no further.

After reading the Pastor Jim Cimbala's book "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" I had to have a copy of one of the Brooklyn Tab's CD's. Now I almost possess all of them! I would recommend anything that they perform and recommend the book to all! God Bless!
