4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball, December 13, 1999

The songs that are also on The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball are excellent but the additional ones aren't that great at all. The only reason I bought the second one (Favorites) was because the first one was so super but I wish I hadn't now. My recommendation is to buy Red Rubber Ball and not this one.

If you follow their history, you will understand that there is much more than meets the ear here. The Cyrkle were respected and worked some pretty "heavy" folks in their time. Writing with Paul Simon, being named by and touring with the Beatles, topping the charts a few times and, more than all of these, they made some of the more interesting music in their time. If you are a soft psych fan--check these guys out. A fair cross section of their talents here. I don't alays agree with their arrangements (Cloudy would have been a big hit if they had speeded it up a bit), I find this compilation satisfying and wanting some more Cyrkle.

3.0 out of 5 stars One geat song, February 2, 1999

The best kiss-off song I know is featured here, the great "Red Rubber Ball," which to my shock was written by Paul Simon. I always thought they were an English band; turns out they're from Joisey but came to Brian Epstein's attention and got to open for the Beatles.
