What a lovely blend of George Jones! Although some of the titles are duplicate, the clarity is wonderful and crisp. For any fan of George, this should be a sentimental journey.

I believe that Country and Western Music as a genre is a misnomer.
A better title is "The Music of Love and Heartbreak".

To me no other genre of music captures the emotions associated with love, love lost, unrequited love and heartbreak better than C&W.

If this is what C&W is to you then the king of those ballads is Hank Williams.
Never a wasted word, never a word too many, never a word out of place - he has the unique ability to encapsulate all of the complex emotions and experiences that are human love in a three minute song.
How did he do it?
Well, I don't know but if you listen to his songs and search your heart you will know that he is always right.

In my opinion there is only one singer who can out-Hank Hank and that's George Jones.
I have most of George's output but his classic renditions of Hank Williams work are my personal favourites. Nobody delivers them better and with more feeling than George Jones.

This collection and the companion disc, "George Jones Salutes Hank Williams" are highly recommended. If they don't move you - check your pulse!!

George Jones's versions of Hank Williams songs are very good-but they only account for half of the songs on this cd. The remainder of the songs are adequate coming from an album entutled "Trouble in mind" I prefer Charley Prides album which was a tribute to Hank-but to my knowledge it is not available in any format-a shame. But, I still recommend this cd.

Before I could make my order this CD was out of print ; it's time this came back in print!
