Book Description

- the story of sexy, smart and very married Grace Trufant and her playa lifestyle. She is married to a successful, loving husband but somehow she requires more attention than this fine upstanding man can offer. She plays hard; in fact she is a playa in her own right. But Grace forgets that Game recognizes Game when she runs into Sonia, her husband’s best friend. This is the tale of Grace’s extra-marital love affair, love and support of good friends, and lessons learned along the way.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Cheating spouses are a sensitive subject. Sometimes art imitates life and sometimes the converse. Sometimes a book will hit close to home and make you feel more than you wish. Remember, a book is just a book and I write fiction, my work is intended to entertain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shout out to the author!!!!! March 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is by far one of the best! I don't think the book was slow at all. In fact, it brought you into what was going on as well as meeting the main characters, within the first few chapters. Definitely kept me on my feet and I found myself talking aloud while reading lol. You always hear about men cheating, so I'm glad someone took the liberty to write about a woman doing all the dirt. I enjoy reading books by black authors. This book wasn't demeaning like the "Hood" stories or raunchy like Zane's books and still grabbed my attention. A must read!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars No t a Good Book May 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I consider myself very very soft when it comes to rating books, but this book was all over he place...some things had no beginnings...others had no endings...the main character... THERE WAS NONE!!! grace had no reason why she was doing what she was doing.... the characteristics of the characters were not solid....the lover(i dont even remember his name it was so many characters) was a preppy, crazy, thugged out, business man, player...who fell in love with a married woman after 2 weeks...like wth?!?!? i didnt like this book very much....it was way all over the place.....there were flash backs...flash forwards...and even some flash sideways....and by the time I realized nothing was going to change about the book...it ended very abrubtly.. dont waste ur time

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreadable April 9, 2012

I was really excited about reading this book until I started the first page. The writing was cut off at the beginning and end of each sentence. I got tired of guessing what the words were supposed to be so I just gave up. Can't say I've ever experienced anything like this!

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure, Unadulterated Bunkum June 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Are the reviewers of this book one and the same? I have come across a lot of bad writing (the downside of freebies), but this has to be the worst, and to think it was written by a fellow (sic) 'sista'! Trite dialogue was the least of it. Did no one proofread this thing? The errors abounded. Wrong tenses, things like roll for role and maim for mane.... there were just too many of them! The author would do well to find herself an editor and a proof reader. I will not waste time on her other offerings.

5.0 out of 5 stars FEMALE TRAITS March 21, 2005
Format:Paperback
I READ FEMALE TRAITS IN TWO DAYS. I LOVED THIS BOOK BECAUSE I KNOW QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WHO CAN RELATE TO "GRACE" WHO IS THE MAIN CHARACTER IN FEMALE TRAITS.

THIS BOOK IS A PAGE TURNER, IT KEEPS YOU WANTING MORE. WHEN I READ THIS BOOK IT FELT LIKE I WAS ACTUALLY IN THE BOOK. FOR THE SERIOUS BOOK READERS, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I FELT LIKE I KNEW EACH CHARACTER PERSONALLY.

I LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE FROM LUREA MCFADDEN. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I CANNOT WAIT.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Playa got played April 9, 2005
Format:Paperback
Grace Trufant thought she had everything in control: wonderful job, handsome husband that made her the envy of many a woman, and a body that was the desire of many men. Continuously taking her husband for granted, Grace gets caught up in a whirlwind affair with Brian, whom she leads to believe that she and her husband are separating. She doesn't expect Brian to fall in love and act like a complete lover gone mad.

Edwin, Grace's husband, has a life most men would kill for. A dynamite wife, stellar career and his best friend Sonia, who worships the ground he walks on. Although he is aware that she has feelings for him, he knows she will never cross the line, and is grateful for her being there for the long haul.

Sonia knows that something is not right with Grace; she is absolutely sure of it. While out on a date with her current beau, she spots Grace having an intimate lunch with someone other than her husband. Always looking out for Edwin's best interests and a little of her own, Sonia decides to investigate and gleefully finds out far more than she bargained for.

Things heat up when Sonia, Edwin, Grace and Brian all run into each other at a party. Grace doesn't know how to keep it together, Brian spills the beans, and Sonia is waiting with open arms for Edwin. They say that greed will break you, and Grace finds out the hard way.

FEMALE TRAITS had a good storyline, but was filled with typographical and grammatical errors. Fortunately, this did not detract too much from the story. A sincere and realistic view of what occurs everyday, the moral goes without saying - when you play with fire, you're bound to get burned.
