Amazing,
This review is from: Fear & Desire (Audio CD)
Today, I received my Fear and Desire masterpiece!I found it in my mailbox while heading out in my car, popped it in my cd player and was just so overwhelmed with the rich, beautiful sound that I had to pull over and just listen. I purchased this after hearing Sleeping Dogs which was just so amazing.....and I am so glad that I did. I would highly recommend this to any and all. Gave me goosebumps! The overture drawing me in and throughout this work.....From the vocals, instrumentals, the orchestral fullness adding to the mix.... to production...I was so moved.....truly a gift to the soul!

I have really enjoyed listening to this album, I know they have previously released an EP so I will make sure I get my hands on a copy. There is a great variety of tracks on the album and there a couple of orchestral pieces on the album that are of extraordinary quality that demonstrates a potential of the band to break into movie soundtrack composition. The album boasts a string of tracks with brilliant lyrics of poetic quality. I am now a definite fan of their music and I would love to see them live.

Great Up-and-Coming Band!,

This album is fabulous, even better than Mrnorth's first album, Lifesize. The melodies are haunting and the lead singer, Colin, has an amazing range. I highly recommend this album for fans of U2 and similar bands.

It Was Worth the Wait!,

I was not impressed with this album the first few times I listened to it. In fact, I was quite shocked after the first listen because I thought it was so different from their first album (which I really, really like!). But this new album has grown in me with time, and now I can't stop listening to it! This new album shows maturity in all aspects. It was truly well done! Excellent!By the way, I recommend you get the Sleeping Dogs EP as well, which has some great songs on it, and which I believe you can get only through iTunes and Napster.

MrNorth creates an instant masterwork! "Fear and Desire " is a must own!!!,

MRNORTH has created a masterpiece in only their 2nd full CD release."Fear and Desire" contains so many elements that I can not do it justice in the brief review space here. In short... it is rock at it's finest! It is literate and caring, it is powerful, orchestral, incredible vocals, great musicianship, soul moving, addictive, and once again ... rock at it's finest and most brilliant. This will be regarded as a best of 2007 (and it's only April!) and it is only this amazing Irish / New York based band's 2nd full length CD...WOW !!! Buy this full CD now, play it loud and over and over and over, and be consumed by it. Also, run to see the band live if they are anywhere near you... they sound even more incredible in person. 5 stars plus!!!! Steve O

I am not a big music afficianado but this is just an outstanding album. I do not even care for rock and roll but Mrnorth has a unique sound and its arranged so well.

Best in Class,

This CD is one of the best I have heard in years, it is a little different from their first CD "Lifesize" which was also fantastic, I recommend getting both. This is is one of those CD's that you put your head phones on and listen to until the early morning hours. It is powerful and thought provoking.I wouder give it 6 stars if I could.

After thoroughly enjoying their first release, was more impressed with this sophomoric release. Includes some tasty orchestral arrangements. Lyrically emotive and clever, musically adventurous, waiting to see what will come next. My only criticism would be that one song drags on longer then it should.

Another Great Album,

I love this band. I saw them live in New York two years ago & i've been hooked since. The laser has almost burnt a hole in Lifesize, their first album. This album is more mature & as one reviewer has said, it does take a few plays to really get this album. Make no bones about it, this is a great album & I just can't stop playing it. I reckon it's only a matter of time before one of MrNorth's songs end up as a song in a huge sitcom's credits, not unlike Snow Patrol & they become huge. They deserve it.
