From AudioFile
Fear the Light is a neat, carefully crafted crime novel in the British tradition; it is more a who-could-possibly-have-murdered-dear-Aunt-Alice than a whodunit. An interesting variety of characters interact in a small English village in a short time frame. David Rintoul is a skillful reader who captures nuances of personality with clever intonation and a fine range of accents. Characters are revealed in tonal qualities consistent with their backgrounds and personalities. Rintoul is naturally successful at depicting his English characters although noticeably less felicitous with his Americans, but this does little to mar a fine performance. A.D.H.
