4.0 out of 5 stars Good CD, April 8, 2003
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
I would like to give this CD 5 stars but I can't because, it just takes too long to get going. I'm a Killarmy/Wu fan and love all three CD's but honestly, I was a little bored through the first part of this CD. However, it's worth the wait because as the CD moves along, the songs do to. When it reaches the end and finishes up with "Lady Sings the Blues", I was more than satisified. That track is one one the darkest, most emotional and haunting hip-hop tracks I've heard in years! If you're not sure about picking up this album, do it for that track. Don't download it. Support a bangin' hip-hop group for Christ's sake! Download sellout garbage if you must to keep them from getting your money. Support real hip-hop and help keep it alive!

5.0 out of 5 stars swords for survival, June 17, 2002

This is a bangin album, the Gods dont play. The lyrics are always on point. The beats are ahead of their time. These are true MC's blessin us with knowlege, wisdom, and understanding. Most people go for the shinny getups catchy tunes and lyrics that are simple minded. They are missing the idea of true Hip Hop. Hip Hop is supposed to make you think on another level. Killarm's lyrics have a profound impact on the listener, and have 'em beggin for more. I am a loyal fan to say the least and i appreciate the talent and the realizim put into it. The first two albums were instant classics, the third album is no exception. Every single beat has a grimy "full metal jacket" feel knawmean, when they where searching for the female sniper y'know. Sweatshop intro says it all. not to mention "Originators", 9th prince spits metaphors constantly like a hillbilly spittin his chaw. The realness alone is noteworthy, for example "The Hit" The slang is so advanced, some cant keep up. Its too hype, the off beat style, the sampling of the gunfire and bombs it all goes with the beat. Its too much to absorb in one sitting, the more you listen to it the more you catch, and thats with all wu tang tracks. Thats my word!

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes a couple listens, December 6, 2001
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
Like some other Wu albums, this offering from Killarmy takes a couple listens before you get into it. I bought the album because I had read good reviews and I loved the song Militant. But, the first time I listened to it, Militant was the only song I liked. But, after a couple listens, there are several tracks that stand out. To me, Militant is the standout track, but The Push, Street Monopoly, Feel It, Whatever We Want, Monster, and Lady Sings the Blues are the top tracks. Originators, Sweatshop, and Trilogy are also good songs. The other songs are decent, but may or may not like them due to production. The production is mostly solid, with most production done by 4th Disciple, with help from Falling Down, Rebel Dainja, and Mike D. The few guest spots are made by U-God, Superb, Prodical Sun, and Polite. My only problems with this album are there are too many skits and 1-2 minute songs and several of the songs' intros are way too long. Other than that, this is a solid album.

10. feel it 10/10 this is the 3rd song i heard b4 i bought the album...and its the reason why i spent my money on this album...if yall dont want to buy the album download this song off aimster...kazaa ..win mx or imesh...it's the most emotional song on the album..they talk about problems they havin ...all kinds of problems

16. one to grow on 7.7/10 ..i havent listen to it much..maybe its a better song than i think cuz most of the songs require a few listens...most wu -songs u cant judge them after a few listens...but it did not attract me enough to keep on listenin to it..but it's defintily not a bad song..and it's short so no need to skip...
17.skit
18. 10/10 this is tied wit "feel it" for best song s on the album..for some reason this song is clean...they censor the words...i dont know ..why it kinda takesaway from the song..so it's probly a 9.99999999999 for the censorship..
19 spoken word....it's kinda skit like 9/10...it got a nice mellow beat...they jus talking but great beat

5.0 out of 5 stars Killarmy's 3rd album is certainly droppin bombs--it's bangin, September 14, 2001
By
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
This is the 3rd album released by the wu tang affiliated group Killarmy, and it is close to their very best. The first album (Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars) is of course the best album, this one comes in right next to it. From the time I popped the CD in my car I knew I was holding a lyrical array of fine tunes. Wu Tang is my favorite hip hop group ever and this album is definetely a must own. Killarmy is staying on point and this album proves that. If you liked "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars" then you will love this album, if you didn't like "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars" or have never heard it you will still like this album. Killarmy in your galaxy, in your continent, in your state, in your city , go on and get this piece you know you needy!By the way, the beats are illin and the lyrical prowess of these emcees only adds to the greatness of this album. Peace--

4.0 out of 5 stars Consistent Hip Hop, February 5, 2002
By
_ (Atlanta, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
Give credit to Killarmy because they are one of the most consistent Hip Hop acts out there. 'Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars'- classic. 'Dirty Weaponry'- classic. With their new album, the group offers another superb disc of Hip Hop, making their trilogy catalogue, thus far, very very good. Let's also let it be known that 4th Disciple is one of the most underrated beatsmiths out there. At the helm of a track, he shows how he's got mad skills. Killarmy stays in their mantra mode of battle rhymes and pondered philosophy, but it does not disappoint. 9th Prince and Don Pacino show how their lyrical tactics have developed further, and Killa Sin still flourishes, even though he's not on a lot of tracks here. And hey, even Islord has gotten better!

Definitely get this album.

So far, Killarmy is 3 for 3.

4.0 out of 5 stars Return of the 6 Man Wedding!, November 24, 2001
By
"nova950" (Ground Zero.....NYC!!!!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
If you liked Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars, or Dirty Weaponary then you will love Fear, Love and War!!! The lyrics are typical bloodbath, militant-styled, 5 percent-lesson laced that Killarmy is known for. But what makes this album standout is the production. The music for their lyrics is outstanding, 4th Disciple and other not so famous producers really did their thing with the beats. "Feel It"is hot and there are other stand out cuts on the album. Pick it up because it is the most slept on albums this year coming out from the Wu-Tang stables.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killarm is the truth... Real hip hop, May 31, 2006
This review is from: Fear, Love & War (Audio CD)
Killarmy is a bunch of real hip hop brothers that rza wutang's producer has taken under his wing... Killarmy's "fear, love & war" is a mastepiece and a classic undeground hip hop album as their previous albums are...AS always sharp. Forget all that mtv garbage that you listing to and stop listining to those fake Tony montana wanna be thugs and beging to listing to some real [...] like raskass,oc, cella dwella, az, cats that if you enjoy g unit, the game, feminem, Paul wall, lil john , dipset ? You'll never know about. Most all these new up & coming rappers as always talk about how good hustles they're & how they've came up & how rich they are and how much nice clothe they got but can they rap ? Hell no. Support true hip hop.
