This book is bent toward working people trying to mentally focus a little bit and identify what is holding them back. It does not deal with family history or anything of that depth.

One basic premise is that getting ahead takes sacrifices and if you don't like the sacrifices it takes to get ahead, then you have to choose what you really want deep down. Once you have made this choice then the book gives you tips and skills to counter the negative thinking/nervousness/fears holding us back. If you are basically functioning pretty well in what you are doing but want some tips on moving ahead because a fear is holding you back or you aren't sure what you really want, then this book may help.

My problems are more rooted in childhood issues so this book wasn't really for me. I felt like the book just told me to grow up and act adult without really explaining why it was harder for some than others.

This book was recommended to me about two years ago - I'm glad to finally have it. The supplier delivered it in the time and condition promised.
