THRASH TIL DEATH!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Fear of Tomorrow (Audio CD)
Artillery's debut album is another underrated thrash classic which deserves some attention. Unfortunately every label that this band has been on has screwed them over and ruined their chances of exposure and publicity. However, the music of this band cannot be denied. This album shows Artillery in top form and is full of mid 80s Thrash/Speed metal riffs with ear splitting solos. Vocalist Flemming Ronzdorf sounds like a tortured Jackyl with his piercing shrieks. I really cannot stress how good this album is, every song rules PERIOD! If you like Slayer, Metal Church, Accept, Destruction ect... Fear of Tomnmorow is a MUST have. Buy their other albums Terror Squad By Inheritance and BACK also. ARTILLERY is now reformed and hopefully people will wake the hell up and buy this band's albums!

Fantastic Re-Master to a classic,

One of the best debuts a band could ever hope for. Metalmind put this on 24bit gold disc and the remaster creates a world of difference, making the songs sound even more powerful, killer. The Eternal War, out of the sky, deeds of darkness-all the classic songs will blow you away w/the remaster. Metalmind did not fix the orginal cd master where on 1 or 2 songs sound getts muffled for 1-2 seconds, not remastered from original source, they could have fixed this, but a minor quibble.

An overlooked gem,

I think the previous reviewer below didn't mean 1 star...Gravel vocals (once described as gargling on glass), crunching guitars, amusing lyrics (though not intentionally) and some fantastic riffs. This long unavailable album should be purchased by any self respecting thrash fan. Get "Terror Squad" as well, but don't touch "By Inheritance" unless you want a cover of Nazareth's "Razzamanazz"...

This U.S. Artillery fan gives a thumb up,

I agree with the Australian music fan who gave his review (hey, is that you Ugly Dave Gray? It's me, jonworth@jonworth.com) - I think this is a great first effort too... Prefer Terror Squad, myself. I'll never understand why this band didn't catch on outside of Europe.. bad record label representation, I think.

Not a bad first up effort,

Although suffering production wise, this first full length album by the criminally ignored Danish group contains enough riffs and solid songwriting to wipe the floor with most mid 80's thrash.Highlight of the album is the last track Deeds of Darkness, a slow crunching number to begin with that breaks into a mid tempo run that just cranks. |
