This review is from: Fear and Trembling and the Sickness Unto Death (Paperback)
Soren Kierkegaard is the "national hero" of Denmark. a brilliant scholar, he lived modestly on an inheritance and self-published his books. Fear and Trembling is a serious moral exploration - analyzing what he called a "sin" - the state of despair, where one loses faith in God - (one of the "7 deadly sins" -called "sloth") "Sloth does not mean "laziness", as is comonly thought - it is a deep depression due to loss of faith in God - big differnce.
