The account of Jesus calming the storm (Mark 4:35-41) is an impressive demonstration of Christ's power over nature and His ability to comfort us in the storm. It showcases our need to call on Him in prayer and place our trust and reliance on Him, it was the inspiration for writing Fearful To Fearless. Fearful To Fearless brings together almost 400 passages of scripture to demonstrate or direct us to not be afraid, to not worry or be anxious, to look to Christ for strength and comfort, and be transformed to have a worshipful fear and awe of God. Each passage is accompanied by a short biblical truth to help provide clarity and encouragement. When the disciples cried out suggesting that He didn't care whether they perished or not, Christ showed His disappointment in their lack of faith. For Christ loves us all and wants for none to perish, but for all to have faith and go through the storm with Him. Each time we choose to trust Him in the storm the stronger our faith becomes. But what we also see in this passage is the transformation from being afraid, to having the fear of God. The disciples just witnessed the power that He had over the sea and storm and realized the power that He had over them. They were now in awe, they marveled at what they just observed and were filled with the fear of God, a godly fear of the power and grace of Christ during the calm, a fear of the Lord and all His goodness, a reverent awe that was full of honor and glorifying to Christ.

I've certainly made my share of excuses when it comes to stepping out, but each time I've chosen to step in faith I have been blessed and enriched. I know it pleases God to see people overcome their fears and answer His call. He has a plan and wants to include us all in accomplishing it! Looking for something to pick up when you need to hear a short word from God in the area of fear and worry, I've actually been waiting for someone else to write it. I recall hearing that there were 365 "fear nots" in the bible, one for every day of the year, it was even mentioned in the movie "Facing the Giants" but I've never found anything written or assembled this way. Upon leaving the corporate world I felt lead to take on the project myself. "Fearful To Fearless" represents about 15 months of research, study and preparation. A number of bible translations and commentaries were utilized in identifying the scripture passages relating to fear, worry and the fear of God. I prayed about what each passage had to say in order to uncover a concise biblical truth that put the passage in context for me. In the end almost 400 scripture references were identified. Previously I've written a number of articles that have appeared in different technical journals and books. "Fearful To Fearless" marks my first work in this literary arena. I enjoy a passion for photography, especially for landscapes and wildlife that illustrates and reflects the glory of God. Great, Simple Devotional about Fear & Apprehension,

Fearful to Fearless is a book with a simple premise: stop being afraid in life, stop being anxious or nervous, and instead be bold and fearless.
The book is divided into three sections: "Fear Not", "Don't Worry", and "Fear God". Each one begins with a brief introduction and then proceeds into the familiar devotional format. The book at first seems unusual, as it essentially is an exhaustive collection of bible verses that relate to fear, worry, doubts, and the like. Yet, its simplicity is great, for whatever page you open to you are guaranteed to read a verse that directly relates to fear. Also, after each verse, Kusner gives a brief sentence or two to think and meditate on. This book basically is like running a query on the word "fear" and the bible and then putting the results into book format. While the idea is not original, it definitely shows the author's concern for his subject. However, be advised that any extra stuff is relegated primarily to the introductions, and this book lacks bells & whistles. (Yet, who needs bells & whistles when you've got God's Word?) Fearful to Fearless is a standard Christian book that offers encouragement, this one chiefly for those that struggle with fear and apprehension. Some extra verses or commentary would've been nice, but then again, if one was looking only for a collection of verses on fear, this book would fit perfectly. For anyone that faces these problems, fear and worrying, and would like a devotion-type book, I can easily recommend Jeff Kusner's Fearful to Fearless. If you're wanting a more in-depth look and commentary on fear, this may not be the book for you. *FTC Thingy: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Jeff Kusner has complied a remarkable collection of Christ centered, Biblically based promises that offer inspiration and a pattern for living, a life free of fear in exchange for a reverent worship our awesome God. This compilation is found in his book "Fearful to Fearless."
There are selected passages from Genesis through Revelation with a complete index. The format of the book includes one of the selected scriptural passage addressing a "fear not" or other verse related to fear or comfort with a brief truth to accompany the verse that inspires, comforts, or challenges the reader to look to Jesus for calm and peace in the personal "storms of life" being faced. The book is designed so that it can be used for daily inspiration, for help in specific times of crisis, or when needing a nugget of truth or a promise for the peace and calm that Christ offers his followers in times when they need extra faith or spiritual strength. Each passage has been carefully selected.
