I still enjoy this album very much today.
Sinitta
The track pretty much sounds like a Pet Shop Boys song sung by a female.

If you like old but good pop/disoc music buy it now.

I originally bought this on cassette in the eighties and completely forgot about this band until I recently saw one of their videos on YouTube. I bought the CD right away because I remembered how much I enjoyed the cassette. It may at times sound cheesy compared to today's music but nevertheless there are some great 80's tunes on this CD. I would have given it five stars but the sound quality was not as good as I would've liked when I cranked up the volume in the car. Oh well, probably better for my aging eardrums anyhow.

I still enjoy this album very much today. There is their very beautiful hit "I'm not scared" produced by the Pet Shop Boys. That song along makes it all worth. Then there are their other hits like "Will you remember" and "Baby baby" with Patsy's nice and warm voice. She doesn't have the strongest voice, but she has charm. All songs are chosen well and support Patsy. it's a shame she gave up her singing career after this album. I wish there would be more releases by Patsy Kensit & Eighth Wonder

...to say the least because it was also the year Sandra released the album Into a second land, Paula Abdul's Forever your girl, Pet Shop Boys' Introspective, Kim Wilde's Close, Kylie Minogue's debut album Kylie and Michael Jackson and Depeche Mode were still releasing singles from Bad & Music For the masses but this album beats them all because there is absolutely no filler here whatsoever !

All the songs are good. The singles of course I'm not scared (that still sends shivers down my spine 22 years later), Cross my heart and Baby baby but also great hits like When the phone stops ringing, Will you remember, Use Me etc. All of them still sound fresh and original today.

And all of them were singles, I never knew there was so much of them, that's surely why this album is so good, it's almost more a singles collection than a real album.

But CBS Records/Sony Music should be ashamed to still use the same old master for the Cross my heart dance mix. For years, I thought my vinyl record was jumping beats, I even though years later, my CD Single was damaged during my last moving to my new apartment but all this time, it was just a bad original master tape because this mix jumps at exactly the same times in all my editions, at 5'11" and as well at 6'39". So now I know even Cherry red is not to blame here.

We trust record companies with these jewels, some of them truly don't deserve that trust ! My own singles of I'm not scared, Cross my heart and Baby baby are in better shape than the ones found in the booklet. Record companies are maybe the legal way to obtain the original master tapes but often real fans take more care of these things than big companies, obviously.

This new reissue of the Eighth Wonder album "Fearless" gathers much of their limited output onto one disc thanks to the bonus tracks. This virtually unknown group with a female vocalist has a surprisingly major lineup of producers behind the wheels of their extremely pop sounds. Mike Chapman of Blondie fame produces "When the Phone Stops Ringing" and "Will You Remember." None other than the Pet Shop Boys, along with Stock Aitken Waterman remixer Phil Harding handle "I'm Not Scared." And finally, the remaining tracks are produced by another S.A.W. alum, Pete Hammond, who most often handled the softer S.A.W. remixes like Rick Astley and Jason Donovan while Phil Harding was in charge of harder acts like Dead or Alive.

The majority of their sound is sugary bubble gum pop, much of which harkens back to 1960s influences, not uncommon for 80s music. My favorite tracks include Chapman's "When the Phone Stops Ringing" with its pop rock girl group vibe and the incorporation of the riff from Blondie's "Heart of Glass," and the Pet Shop Boys produced "I'm Not Scared" which the band actually recorded themselves as well. The track pretty much sounds like a Pet Shop Boys song sung by a female.

Other than those two songs and the producers involved, don't expect a `new wave' type of record or even a Stock Aitken Waterman dance album. This is truly pure bubble gum pop. Fun yes. Outstanding? Not so much. But if you are a hardcore 80s collector, it's worth it adding this to your collection, especially thanks to the inclusion some 12" versions. However, it is to be noted that there is a major error in the fact that the song Baby Baby is supposed to be on here as a bonus track in its 12" version, but instead, they've simply repeated the album version!
