Great Rice Substitute!,

This review is from: Soya Granules 2 Pounds (Health and Beauty)
Soy granules is a wonderful high protein, low carbohydrate option to rice. I have used it to make many things calling for rice including Indian dishes, Italian dishes, and Chinese fried "rice" dishes. Just cover with water and boil until the water is gone and the granules are "fluffy". Can add veggies and spices later or while cooking granules - play around to find out what works best for you - very quick and versatile -YUM!!!

I like this product because it is an easy way to increase protein in a lot of foods. I throw a tablespoon or two in with the oatmeal when it's cooking. Also it can be added to baked goods. If it's going to be added to cold stuff, let it soak in the milk awhile to soften it up, or whatever liquid is being used. It is pure soybeans, broken into little pieces so the liquid can be absorbed. This, I feel, should be mentioned on the box: If it is eaten as a cold cereal or with cold cereal, it should be soaked in the milk (etc.) first, for at least 15-20 minutes to soften it up.
