5.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmmm....
The person who gave this album 1 star...I wonder why the hell you even bothered to listen to this band since obviously you're a stero-type and you will never be able to listen to DM...Anyways, this is a very high quality release...The production is superb(!), and this band displays some sick, brutal, grinding DM!!! The songs are pretty technical and catchy, the vocals are...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not too great.
I agree with "Burning Babies". The instrumentals weren't that great...and the overall sound lacks (not to mention the fact that the whole CD seems as if it's one giant, similar-sounding song). The vocals are actually, in my opinion, pretty well executed though. They remind me of Chris Barnes except a bit higher in pitch and fuller, so to speak. Still, the CD generally...

The songs are pretty technical and catchy, the vocals are really sick, and I'm pretty impressed by the high-quality musicianship of this brutal Dutch band... Anyways, people who digs (Old)Suffocation, (Old)Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Devourment, Disgorge, Brodequin....stuff like that, listen to this band!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

Oh man! This is easily the best band on the planet right now. With a combo of heavy (I mean brutally heavy) guitar riffs and dark inspirational lyrics that match the vocals. This is what makes them the best death metal band on the planet. The best thing about these guys is that you can really tell that the music is real. Their lyrics are so inspirational and filled with real angst that really touch the heart(unlike wannabes like those SlipKnot kids).Bottom line: this album is a must buy for any death metal fan,or any fan of music that involves inspirational well written songs with brilliant guitar work.

This album shreds! Sounding like a mix between Dying Fetus and Cannibal Corpse, Severe Torture leave very little to be wanted. With intense drumming, excellent vocals and a very original style of death metal. I suspect these guys are going to be very big in the underground scene within the next two albums they release. I recommend this album HIGHLY to anyone who enjoys the faster and more blasty style of death metal. Definately at least worth a listen, whether you like that style or not...very very original band.

The vocals are actually, in my opinion, pretty well executed though. They remind me of Chris Barnes except a bit higher in pitch and fuller, so to speak. Still, the CD generally lacks. It sounds similar to Misanthropic Carnage also, but I'd say Misanthropic Carnage is better than this LP. It has more variation and technicality to it than this one.

So, if you're into standard, semi-boring grindcore-ish death metal then this release is for you. If you're more into technical death metal and standard non-grindcore-like death metal vocals with a substantial amount of variation among songs, then I wouldn't suggest this to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extreme brutality. . . and a melodic excursion?, April 17, 2005

In the days where everyone has a death metal band and attempts to be the most brutal on the market, most of these blasting practitioneers are a dime a dozen or at most worthy of a spin. At one time a few years ago, a resurgence of surprisingly good groups came out of nowhere to shock including "Severe Torture From Holland".

My first experience with this group was at a live performance, and I was blown away by the sheer ferocity of their blasting death metal. Upon purchasing the album, I was pleased to hear that they used many subtle melodic vehicles to move their music along (I would cite songs to reference by, but I'm afraid that Amazon would not publish this review). Death metal fans interested in hearing competent musicians play material in the Cannibal Corpse vein, but with more focus and some very interesting songs, I recommend Feasting On Blood hands-down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very satanic band with rythm to their music., February 27, 2005

Severe torture's "feasting on blood" is very much an albumthat is quite assential and has its own brutality to it without being overly done like so many crap out now... For people into a sound thats originaly again and has not cheesy satanic lirycs? Get it.

Just here to rate this album with five stars. Please, people who don't have any sense for DM: leave us alone and don't rate DM albums with one star! This album is actually a masterpiece, compare it with the likes of Cannibal Corpse. Brutal! And they're from Holland, too! Like me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Luficer will prevail..., April 8, 2005
This review is from: Feasting on Blood (Audio CD)
If you simply just read the names of each song? You'll know that severe torture isn't playing around when it comes to being anti-christians and praising satan in every possible way...Now to the music, its technical and also sounds original which is always a plus in my book. To all the people who love brutal deathmetal with talent and organized you won't be dissapointing with severe torture's "feasting on blood" its sick! \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars Satan should be clapping his hands at these guys., December 12, 2004
By
This review is from: Feasting on Blood (Audio CD)
I belive if satan would be proud of something it would've to be the album "Feasting on blood" by severe torture and if you look at the song titles ? You'll understand why. I would recommend buying this album if your into a satanic assult non-stop but if you get offended easy? Then don't bother. Let's just say that these guys make deicide look christians. Highly recommended!
