Best blades, evah.,

These blades are awesome. I'd been using Derby Extras (very good blades, incidentally), and decided to try the Feathers. Anybody wanna buy some still-in-the-box Derby Extras?
Yes, the blades are extremely sharp; I believe the idea behind razor blades is that they're supposed to be sharp, so that's a plus. I have a very heavy beard, and the whiskers don't go easy in the morning. My Derby Extras would cut through, but only with some bulldozing action on my part. Not so with the Feathers - they slice through those little hairs like a hot knife through butter. After shaving (which I do in the shower), it's hard to believe a beard could possibly grow on that baby butt-smooth face of mine. As far as people slicing themselves, I think these blades would be difficult to start with if you're new to the world of double-edge shaving. One small cross-cut, and you could definitely do some damage. But, so far, I have yet to draw a single drop - knock on wood. So -- these blades deserve your respect, because they're sharp. They also deserve your admiration for the same reason. If you're ready for a sharper blade, these babies are what you want.

This review is from: Feather Hi-Stainless Platimum Double Edge Razor Blades 50 Ct (Health and Beauty)
It seems to be universally agreed by Double Edge blade shavers that these blades are sharper than Dr. House's scalpel or wit. I'm guessing the name "Feather" refers to the amount of pressure required to erase everything beyond the plane of your cheeks if you get a little reckless, including your nose and cheekbones. But I say that in a good way because if used gently and only after your second cup of coffee for alertness and concentration, you WILL get the closest and best shave of your life. Longevity is excellent also, remaining laser sharp even after 5 to 7 shaves if you care to use each one that long. Each beard and shaver's preferences are unique, so you might want to just buy a single 5 pack to give them a spin. Personally, I have no reason to try any other blade. They cost a little more that other alternatives, but like most things, you usually get what you pay for. As a former Gillette Fusion user before rediscovering double edge shaving, this shave cost less than 1/4 the price, shaves much closer, lasts longer, and if used correctly seems to leave your skin smoother and softer.

At first I thought to myself, how could there be that much of a difference between various brands of DE razor blades? I've been shaving with a Merkur Futor for about a year and naturally just bought the Merkur blades along with my razor. When the Merkur blades ran out, I tried the Derbys...which are a heck of alot better than the Merkurs. Nowadays I tend to think of the Merkur blades are analogous to the German language...
I'd read how delightful the Feather blades were and when the Derbys ran out, I spent the extra $$ and bought a 100-pack of the Feathers. Holy @*!!!! Who knew what I was missing? These things are extraordinary! Smooth as silk, and despite what I've read from others that they are likely to cut your face to shreds if not careful, I've not had that experience. I set my Merkur to level 1 and shave away with abandon. Thus far I've yet to cut my face with the Feathers...which was emphatically not the case with the Merkur blades! Those things are harsh as heck. If you are still shaving with them, sell at a garage sale immediately and spend the extra on the Feathers. I'm 45, blonde hair, so probably not the heaviest beard in the world, but I will attest to the fact that I've never in my adult life experienced a better shave than I am now. 2115|R1LX7XLQMV6IYT;2115|R2RXLQCWD5AZWS;2115|R2MTAESP55QESV;
