Product Description

Estella’s secretly talented life as an orphan has finally come to an end. At eighteen she can finally be free to run her own life and embrace her magical talents. Ever since she can remember, she has never been happy, has never smiled, and has never felt like she’d even had a soul. As she heads off to a secluded college in the North Cascades of Washington, she is hopeful that getting away from Seattle will be escape enough for her to finally find herself. As she settles in, her life suddenly takes an unexpected turn when the solitude and seclusion she was hoping for unfolds into a past life she never knew she’d lived. In the forests of the ancient past, she finds exactly what it was that she’d always been missing, not just her soul, but also the most important piece of herself. Her magical world expands into a place that finally feels like home, and takes her inner creativity, and love, to a higher and deeper level.

We at Crimson Oak Publishing apologize to anyone that ordered and read the book while an older and incorrect version was up on Amazon. A pre-edited version was uploaded instead of the edited version. If you would like to contact us you can go to www.crimsonoakpublishing and we would be more than happy to work something out. Once again we apologize and have fixed the situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative, Imaginative, Fantasy Love Story!!!, May 17, 2009
By
This review is from: Feather: Book One (Second Edition: Edited and Extended) (Feather Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
Feather is a creative, imaginative, fantasy love story that I had a hard time putting down. This would be a great read for anyone who likes a the Twilight Series, the stories have a few similar qualities in structure, which I liked but, Feather goes in a whole different direction in the creativity and imagination that exceeds Twilight. Its not just a love story, Feather goes deeper into a whole new world beyond the norm which leaves you hanging in suspense, hungry for the next book in the series. I am looking forward to a lot of amazing stories from this great new young author, I am recommending this book to everyone I know.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fantasy love story, original storyline, editing is HORRIBLE!, June 25, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Feather: Book One (Second Edition: Edited and Extended) (Feather Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
I liked the storyline and how it is developed but there were several phrases in there that DROVE me crazy. One was "furling of the brow" and the other was "blood like lava". I cannot say that they were cliched because I hadn't heard them until this book but, Good God, it's like every other page Estelle was "furling her brow" maybe if she furled it enough she could set sail on a sea of lava hot blood!!! Despite my frustration with incorrect word usage (to the author: you really do need to pay a human being to read your work before you release it because spell check just isn't cutting it!) and terrible spelling mistakes; I enjoyed the story. I do hope that she comes out with a third one that hopefully an editor has corrected for her. I also don't like that you can't really see a synopsis of what a book is about on the Kindle section. Elsewhere in Amazon they let you cruise the book before deciding to buy it. So here's my synopsis: Estelle is from a race of immortals that threatened to become more powerful than the Gods. This made the Gods unhappy and insecure so they moved to complicate things for them. There is kind of a twist about Estelle and ???'s relationship but I think you should read the book to get it. =) Estelle has forgotten her immortality and her soul mate helps her remember it. Don't worry you meet him soon enough!

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Rival Twilight, December 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Feather: Book One (Second Edition: Edited and Extended) (Feather Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
Pretty disapointed in this Twilight wannabe. With main characters named "Edgar and Estella", instead of Edward and Bella. This writer seems very inexperienced to me, or else targeting the 10 years and below market. Nearly every sentence begins with "I", in the first person perspective. Gets really boring. zzzzzzzzzzzz, excuse me, it puts me to sleep.

Estella's first day at school is get out of car, go to bed in cabin and wander into class first thing next morning. What, no school admissions, no pre-paid lunch cards mentioned...no book purchases, no tests.....hey I want to go to that school.

Descriptions are non-existant or very sketchy so you better have a vivid imagination (better than the writer)

A much better series is: Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine.

More About the Author

I'm an Abra because I'm vividly unique, and my books reflect that. I can't consider myself an author because to me, writing is something I do for myself, and a way to express who I am. I share these stories because I hope to find others just like me - bold, unique, stubburn, and creative...

I live in Washington State with my two Cheshire cats and wonderful husband. I love to do anything and everything that inspires me. I began writing in 2008, two years after graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Fine Arts.

What Inspires me? My own life. As a child and teenager, I loved to observe. I soaked in High School like a social sponge, floating from social group to social group, learning the life of each. What we don't often remember when we 'grow up' is the intensity of emotion we once felt back then. I never want to forget what that was like - first love, feeling that everything is so big, so amazing, and of course the pain of losing a friend...

I hold onto those feelings because they defined me, just as they define you. My books are my way of traveling back in time, and there's nothing I cherish more.
