NJS is known in the quilting world for her patterns, books and teaching but she is also an expert in the Featherweight world. In this book, she shares her vast knowledge of Featherweight history, lots of valuable instruction manual info (since many of our machines no longer have them) and great troubleshooting advice. A must read!

This book mixes "how to" with history and a touch of humor. For those of us who need larger print than the traditional (and detailed) repair manual, this is a delight. The book is written about a home-sewing icon which helped to make life better for families since it's beginning in the 1930's.

If your into using, collecting, or purchasing featherweights this is your book. The Singer featherweight is the only sewing machine that has lasted through history and this is their encyclopedia. Great information in general to date a featherweight, learn about their evolution and just to use one new to you. Also, lets a person know what they may in interested in purchasing.

I'll be honest ~ a lot of the information in this book can be gleaned from various websites online. What this book has going for it, though, is the author's voice as she explains her research process. As the owner of two 221s and a 222K I really enjoyed reading this book and I am sure I will refer back to it.

This book is a well-organized useful history of the Singer line of featherweights. The book doesn't stop there, but also has a much-appreciated section on trouble-shooting. The black and gold covered first edition is a little gem, but this edition far outshines the tentative tone of the first. If you are a featherweight aficionado, whether just beginning or quite experienced, you will not regret buying this book.

Excellent book to have to go along with the Featherweight. So much information to use the machine to the best of it's ability.

If you want to know more about a Featherweight, or if you have a Featherweight without an original manual, this book is for you. It is a wonderful little book. I bought one for me and one for my daughter.

I have had this book before but misplaced it so I REplaced. Very necessary to have for a featherweight 221 owner

An excellent supporting document for the Singer 221 Featherweight Sewing Machine. A very thorough and concise reference with superb facts from an obviously credible source. It is part of my expanding library concerning the Singer Featherweight Series of sewing machines. A very good buy for someone who might appreciate the subject matter and shipped in a quick and efficient manner.

This book is a must have for all Featherweight owners, if you don't already own the current edition or don't own it at all, by all means buy it. The book contains a wealth of information presented in an easy to read, well illustrated format. It is the only book I refer to when researching, using or maintaining my machines, I consider it the Featherweight Bible.
