4.0 out of 5 stars A bard from Rio, June 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Featuring Paul Mounsey (Audio CD)
"Nahoo" is a refreshing mixture of Brazilian rhythms and the haunting Gaelic melodies. The composer Paul Mounsey - originally from Scotland - moved to Brazil with his wife, and after a few years he became homesick. The result of that process is Nahoo, which combines quite elegantly the traditional Gaelic melodies, samples and samba-based rhythms. If you like listening to Enigma or Enya, Nahoo is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best music CD I have ever heard, November 23, 2002

As soon as I heard the opening track to this CD, I was hooked. I would call it something akin to Celtic techno, but it's really much more than that, and the CD spans many musical styles, from frenetic electronics to more muted pieces later on. The samples work seamlessly, and the melodies are truly a thing of beauty, making this, without a doubt, the best music CD I have ever purchased.

I love Nahoo 1, 2, and 3. This group has some of the best music I've ever listened to in my 52 yrs. I highly recommend any of their CD's. I can't say enough about their unique music.

I am a Manxman, and I've been living in Japan for seven years, so I know what Paul has been through. We are one the last chance generations as far as our culture and language goes. It hurts that we aren't there to keep things going. This is in my top three alltime records. S'mie lhiam y C.D. shoh. Albanish, Yernish as Chengey ny Mayrey Ellan Vannin gy bra !
