4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent room freshener & soothing visual
It is strangely comforting to see the flickering light and be able to fall asleep with soft scents in your nostrils with no worry of fire danger. This particular fragrance is more for a morning of minor activity as you feel freshened by the fruitiliciousness wafting toward you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice light and scent (for a few days)... outlet free
I like these. The pomegranate scent is nice. The shades only hold the scent for 5 or 6 days, rather than constantly buying new "shades" for them, I spray aromatherapy spray on them and they last longer. I'd give them 5 stars if the scent lasted a little longer. They recommend changing the shade each week which could quickly become expensive. The flickering is a nice...

I'd give them 5 stars if the scent lasted a little longer. They recommend changing the shade each week which could quickly become expensive. The flickering is a nice effect. I mainly like them because I don't have to plug them in. The price is a bit steep but they seem like they will last for a long time. They don't look cheap which would be a deal-breaker for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice to look at, nice scent, but way too expensive to use :(, December 10, 2009
I bought the starter kit on sale. After I finally opened and assembled it I liked the scent (green tea citrus) and loved the ambiance of the flickering light which also is safe with a pug puppy in the house. However, after one week the batteries needed replacing and the shade's scent was gone! I didn't use the light all of the time - maybe twice/day - and there is no way to control the usage of the scent. I think there must be something wrong with the engineering of this light that would make it burn through two batteries in one week with only intermittent usage. The light works/looks similar to a flame-less flickering light/candle replacement that costs 59 cents on sale, runs on a tiny battery and has an on/off switch. Also, the scent just doesn't last ... think an air freshener for your car. At least in the car you can open the package only part way, in an attempt to control the amount of scent that is emitted.

The flickering light has no effect on the intensity of the scent, it is just for ambiance. The scent in the shade is released into the air until it is gone, much too quickly, in my opinion. Great idea but too costly for me to use. Two batteries last for a year in my TV remotes!

1.0 out of 5 stars great idea, but doesn't last very long, December 11, 2009

This review is from: Febreze Home Collections Flameless Luminary Refill, 2-Count Boxes (Pack of 3) (Health and Beauty)
Purchased 2 of these scented flameless items. First 2 broke pretty quickly. I thought it may be "operator error", liked the idea and purchased 1 more. Within 2 weeks it also stopped working even with numerous battery changes. The scent lasts 5 days maybe at the most and are pretty costly to replace.
Great idea, but needs some more work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware, October 26, 2010
I can only assume the people who gave this product such good reviews work for the company. This is a truly over priced waste of money. The scented paper is very strong, but only after it's pulled from the packaging. After that, it loses its smell really fast. Also, I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but placing the scented paper in the flickering light gadget really has nothing to do with keeping the scent going. The scent is only in the paper and once it's gone (shortly after removing from the package) it's gone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't waste the money again..., December 7, 2010

Okay, so now we've all seen the commercials for this product and now everyone who sees this thing in your home is going to know it's an air freshener. That said, this thing is horribly cheap. The shade, as you can imagine even with the commercials, is terribly flimsy, easily torn, and MUST be kept out of the way of children if you want it to last. The scent, well, it lasts for about 3 days and then it's gone. Same with the new one "lose the cone." The scent evaporates very quickly. I'm quite disappointed in both of these products, particularly since it's made by Febreze. Thought they would be better than the Renuzit. The cans of air freshener, although temporary, really do a great job which is why I ordered this in the first place. Took the thing back and got a refund. Sorry, just cannot recommend this product.

I like the smell of the scents that febreze makes for the flameless luminary, but the smell does not last more than 4-5 days. The batteries also dont last more than 10 hours making this product very expensive to maintain. I don't think it is worth the money because the life span is so short.

The designs are very good. The idea of a 'flameless' candle is great, as in your ads, I have a dog and he just loves to sweep the tables. The scent is not as long lasting as adverized, mine doesn't last a week. I use mine as a relaxing 'put me to sleep' aid. The scents are very delicate. The Seasonal Fragrances are not readly availble unless you buy the set - no refills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Willow scented, March 23, 2011
I've had mine for well over 6 months now and it has the same shade on it. It still has a scent too, so I don't know why mine's lasted while everyone else seems to complain that theirs doesn't. And yes, I have left it running for the full 4 hrs (and beyond). The scent isn't overwhelming either. I don't find a need for more than one base since it is completely portable. All you need are 2 AA batteries and you can put it anywhere. Works wonders for my stinky dogs too. F.Y.I. I have 3 boys @ over 60lbs a piece so yea I was glad I bought this.
