Why Pay for a FREE Book,
By
This review is from: Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents (Federal Benefits for Veterans & Dependents) (Paperback)
This book is very useful. It is also FREE at the VA website. You can either read it or download the PDF file. http://www1.va.gov/OPA/vadocs/current_benefits.asp
I don't understand how someone can try to make money from selling FREE books to disabled veterans. They should be ashamed of themselves

2008 Vet Benefits Guide,
By J. Kosina (Fairborn, OH USA) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents (Federal Benefits for Veterans & Dependents) (Paperback)
This guide is essentially the same as the version that comes in the 3-ring binder with the 2 CD's. It's a very quick read, chock full of very important info on benefits every impending vet should know about, whether separating or retiring. It is written by the VA, so you can take for granted that the info is current and accurate with respect to VA benefits. Should you own this and the version in the 3-ring binder with the 2 CDs? I do and find it very helpful that one kind of piggy-backs on the other, however, if your really short on cash, get this one vice the 3-ring format and you'll nearly have all the same info.

An Important addition to any Veteran's collection,

This review is from: Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents (Federal Benefits for Veterans & Dependents) (Paperback)
There is plenty information of value to a veteran, particularly a disabled vet. Read this book before applying for VA disability. If you want it for free, you can download it from the VA website but I didn't want to print out the entire book.

This book is free! You can find it online on the VA.gov website or just go to any VAMC and I guarantee you can find it just laying around somewhere on a table waiting room or counter anywhere. Do NOT pay this! Let alone pay for shipping either! This needs to be taken off of Amazon's seller's market asap. This is taking adavantage of people who may or may not know what services the VA provides.

Agree with Ronald L. Hable,

This review is from: Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents (Federal Benefits for Veterans & Dependents) (Paperback)
This book is an outdated official VA publication being brokered and sold by Amazon. It is offered free by downloading from various sites on the net, by picking one up at your local Veterans Center, or by writing a request for one to your regional VA office. This offered version isn't even the newer 2009 edition. Way to go Amazon to exploit and profit off the blood and service of our nations armed forces! You do yourselves proud. Just think one can add to the price and have it gift wrapped as well! AMAZON YOU STINK!!!!
