From the Author
I first got the idea for this book when I was showing leading Russian federation judges how the American judicialk system worked. I wanted to write a book about a single case, but then thought instead of writing one about the amazing range of cases judges are called on to deal with. The Greenbelt judges were quite articulate, the cases complex and deeply interesting. The book was an exciting project that took me nearly two years.
