This cookbook is filled with stories, traditional recipes and a lot of love from Bubbe! I fully enjoyed reading her personal stories, pictures and of course, the Yiddish word of the day at the bottom of every page. Some of the recipes are handed down from her mother which is really special. She definitely makes it easy for you to recreate her recipes and she fills the pages with encouraging words for those of us who are timid in the kitchen. This really is a wonderful book to add to any collection and I can't wait to start cooking!

Reading 'Feed Me Bubbe' was like getting a long-awaited letter from home filled with stories about heritage and packed with all the bits of wisdom my own grandmother and mother aren't around to give me anymore. Nervous about cooking for a new husband? Can't remember whether it's 1/2 teaspoon or just one? Relax. Take a deep breath. Ask Bubbe.
These recipes aren't complicated and they're delicious. I've tried her Roast Chicken - it's outstanding. I've made her brisket - and even though I didn't like brisket because it always seemed to be tough, tasteless, and stringy, hers is tender and full of flavor. There are some recipes in this book that are sure-fire go-to instructions for feeding a couple or a crowd. And as another reviewer said, the stories will bring tears to your eyes. They will also make you smile.
Get a copy. You won't regret it... and get another for someone you love: whether it's for your daughter or your granddaughter or your best friend or your sister or even your mother.
