Editorial Reviews

Review

"Before I had even gone a third of the way through the book, I acted on one of the suggestions for saving money and due to the directions Travis gave I was able to save about $250 for the year on TV program delivery! The book is full of excellent ideas for saving. I am a penny pincher myself and the author really had some valuable hints on saving, but still living well." - Robert L. Rhoades
"I've known Travis Rusko for several years and I can honestly tell you he's the real deal as a person and what he practices. This little book is full of wonderful and practical tips for anyone looking to save more money and waste less. I was also thrilled to see some of Travis' classic humor scattered throughout the book which made me chuckle on numerous occasions. Not only will you enjoy this little read but you'll also enjoy the results from putting these helpful financial tips into practice. Get ready to take advice from someone who lives what he writes!" - C.J. Hitz

1.0 out of 5 stars Sneaking religion into a money book January 9, 2014
By Mary
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I started this book expecting a book on saving money, not a book that tells me I must find Jesus to save money. If I had wanted a book on religion I would have bought one. As soon as I hit that paragraph I deleted the book. The rest may have been helpful but the religion turned me right off. Should have called it "Find Jesus Find Money".

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical tips for making the most of your paycheck January 1, 2014
Format:Paperback
There are already a ton of books in the financial market giving you a ton of principles for financial planning. There are, however, very few practical, easy to read books in this market that actually give you something you can apply immediately to see a quick difference in your savings every month.

If you are looking for a book to teach you how to immediately save money that is easy to read and apply to your life - I cannot give a higher recommendation for you to pick up this book. Think of this as your first necessary steps to winning your economic freedom.

You will make up what you spend on this book by simply applying the cellphone chapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feed The Pig January 9, 2014
Format:Paperback
This is a quick read, honest and to the point. People who try to save you money have one goal in mind- saving you money. In this case, there are no gimmicks or games being played. Travis wants to live cheap, and share some wisdom principles that have helped him. Travis' tips are a little "basic" - meaning they are a great place to begin if you are new to saving money and don't have a lot of knowledge. To be honest, there weren't a lot of brand new ideas, however there were a few things that were completely new to me.

Here are the pros- if you are new to saving money and want some FAST, EASY ways to save money, you can't deny the price tag of this book, nor the practical avenues through which this book will uncover ways you are throwing away your money. Seriously, for the price of this book it is a WIN whether you are learning these things for the first time OR you are being reminded of things you need to get back to doing! Travis' style of writing is humorous, helpful, and very direct. You will BREEZE through this book and find it to be very easy to read.

Here are the cons- If you are not new to saving money, this will be a helpful book to remind you, but you won't be completely satisfied at the end of it. There are some great foundation principles here, but if you are a veteran penny pincher, there is a bit more depth to explore that is not handled in this quick read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, practical advice January 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Excellent advice that's practical, too. I get frustrated with books that tell me to cut down on things that we've never had in the budget in the first place. This is for real people.

1.0 out of 5 stars Jesus saves...money May 13, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
In a badly written, poorly researched piece of garbage the writer puts the reasoning of the book in Jesus' hands. God made me the money. God made me save money. Pray for more money. Badly written through out this book will have you blaming invisible men in the sky for your failings at finance. Nothing like a good cop out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Time or Money on This March 2, 2014
By ereader
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Update: This author is just an OUT OF WORK bible thumper, trying to make a buck from people needing to save money. I just found a link to his blog February 4, 2014 blog entitled "I may be getting a job!" Seems he was just using this book to drum up false support. If he spent time working on content and learning how to write (grammar, punctuation, spelling etc.) he might even had written a mediocre book, then he might have actually gotten the job.

Original Review:
This book is pure garbage. There is not one thing to be learned in it. I think the author is clueless.

What a waste of time. The prior reviews have to be bogus. There is absolutely nothing in this book that is not already commonly known. Maybe his friends, relatives & parishioners are giving this garbage undo praise?

It is all common sense or already known methods of savings. Such as, mentioning white vinegar for cleaning, but does not give examples of how to use it. Then he does not even note how to clean with baking soda. (Such simple stuff, but he misses it up or omits it.)

Seriously, don't bother with this "book". Simply "Google" whatever your interested in, and read some of those search results. You will find much better solutions for whatever you're looking up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stealth religion February 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was free. If I had paid for it I would have returned it for a refund. A few pages into the book, Rusko starts preaching about christianity and jesus. The title does not represent the contents of the book.
