For anyone who has ever said they didn't like the blues, this band will change your mind. When I first heard this guy play the guitar, he immediately went to my Hall of fame blues guitarist list. As a guitarist myself and one who truly appreciates good blues, I recommend you pick up any cd you can find of the Vargas Blues Band and add it to your archives. This band plays with so much feeling and emotion you are in for a treat. If you play guitar, you know what I mean so just sit back and enjoy.

Guitar Master,

As some reviewers said before, I've heard the albums separated and I can affirm that this guy is surprisingly unknown outside Spain and Euorpe...
Both albums are a mix of differnt styles that Javier manages: there are Flamenco-based songs (Illegally), Latin Rock (Chill Out), true R&B, blues, etc... even he plays a Tango/Bolero, which is quite difficult for a blues guitarrist. As a musician he combines fast playing with really moving solo parts, thus provides the listener with a perfect mix of music sensations... Belive me, any fan of the styles I mentioned above will regret of knowing this excellent musician

I own just about all of Javier Vargas' CD's, and I can recommend him to anyone who loves great rock-blues. Vargas was introduced to me by an Argentine Flight Attendant many years ago. I have been a blues radio host for 5 years, and I now rate Vargas as my all time favourite. These two albums are fantastic. Javier also has a 'Best Of' now that would be great place to start. Try this blues band, you will not regret it. Dynamic guitar playing that blends Spanish, Texas and rock stylings, with amazing vocals from Bobby Alexander.
