A VERY VALUABLE RESOURCE,

If you are going to but one book, and one only, addressing the subject of feeding wild birds, then this would be a perfect choice. This is not one of those coffee table books full of pretty pictures that, in the end, tell you to throw some comercial feed out into your prefab bird feeder. The illustrations in this work are wonderful small black and white drawings (wish I had some of the originals to frame). But the primary value of this book is the well written and throughly researched text. It not only addresses bird specifc feed, but specific feed, something most of this genre does not accomplish. It discusses attracting birds, the need for grit, times to feed, etc. This one is good for both beginners and those who have been enjoying this useful pasttime for years. I do highly recommend this one.
