Here my roar,

This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
Until 8 months ago, I identified mainly with liberals and democrats, but saw myself as a fiscal conservative. What I realized, and was affirmed through Feeding Lions, is that I was riding the fence. I stepped off and joined the world of conservatives. After reading this book, the choice is clear!

An interesting read,
This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
Feeding Lions was an interesting book with alot of good solid research. I liked the analogy of the zoo. I am very concerned about the border security issue and Paul makes a great case of why open borders is not an act of compassion to Americans or illegal aliens. It was a fast-paced book that touched on the important issues of the day. I recommend it to others.

This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
Feeding Lions was the most fascinating book i've ever read. Ibbetson walks you through the patterns that separates liberalism from conservatism in American politics. This book spotlights not only a personal journey but is intriguing to see the building blocks of morality and responsibility. After walking through the visuals that are put before you, it becomes apparent how important principles of conservativism are at this time in our country.
A wonderful book that i'd recommend for all to read. You do not have to be interested in politics to become addicted to every single chapter.

A great way to look at the issues. Great book!,

This book was a great read. A quick and fun read. For anyone interested in conservative ideals, or for liberals who would like to find out why they should think more conservatively, this is the book for you. Paul Ibbetson's wit is sharper than ever, and his down home lessons are a good way to look at the important issues of our time.
Buy this book and read it twice. (Liberals, read it as many times as it takes)

BRILLIANT!,

This novel takes the reader on an educational ride through the political
history of America from its past, and to the present. It is indeed an essential wake-up call to all Americans in the political arena for a stronger government to return to the renewal of morals and values that once built America. The author clearly presents accurate research as he compares the different views from the eyes of a conservative, and the eyes of a liberal. Most important, he demonstrates through personal experience how those differences between the two parties affected world events, making this country what it has become today. Paul A. Ibbetson penned an intriguing novel, based on life's lessons as he points to the building blocks of American responsibility. He draws an imaginery line between liberalism and conservatism in America as he walks the reader through critical issues of today, while describing how the conservative movement and liberal ideals contributed to the morality of American culture. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about the political value systems that move America, and how moral courage is affected, based on solid research. Did the Hippie culture and liberal bias affect standards in America? How did our higher instirutions change? Did the Regan administration, or Bush's beliefs on terrorism contribute to the shape America is in today? In a brilliant presentation, the author covers The Fairness Doctrine, and The War On Terror. With extensive research, he presents documentation on The Patriot Act, and views on global warming. To continue to peek the interest of the reader, Paul A. Ibbetson describes with perfection the Border Security issue in the United States. Are opened borders an act of compassion to Americans, or illegal aliens? What happens when an Amercan crosses the border, are they at their own risk? How does law enforcement differ in Mexico, compared to Arizona? The facts and conclusions drawn from the author, who was raised from conservative roots in America, makes this book appealing to both conservatives, and liberals. The author's personal journey through American politics becomes a stepping stone of knowledge for America's future. "FEEDING LIONS" contains sidesplitting comic in comparison to GOOD MORNING VIETNAM, and is as brilliant as WAG THE DOG with Dustin Hoffman, and Robert DeNiro.

A great view into a conservative mind,
This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
Another great read from a very talented writer.
Without trying to hide who he is from anyone who picks up this book, Paul managed to write a book that will captivate readers of any political slant. He states from the very beginning that this book is based on his view and the lessons he's learned through life, which he shares throughout. A lot more approachable then his last, more technical release (Living Under the Patriot Act: Educating a Society), Feeding Lions gives a look into the views of a man raised from conservative roots in the very heart of America. From his first run-in with the hippie culture to his discussion of liberal bias in today's higher education institutions and from his views of Reagan's presidency to Bush's stand against terrorism, Paul manages to express how he reached the views he did and why he will stick by them until the very end. For those who do not understand the basics of the conservative movement to those who may just want another view of those beliefs, I highly recommend that you pick up Feeding Lions.

Paul Ibbetson Is The Conscience of Kansas,
By Steven Clark Bradley "Steven Clark Bradley" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
I had the good fortune to be a guest on Paul Ibbetson's excellent radio show, The Conscience of Kansas when I was announcing my previous epic novel, 'Nimrod Rising'. I was so thrilled to be on a show of that stature. I immediately knew that Paul was a man who only cared for the truth and that he'd tell it, popular or not.
Now, Paul Ibbetson has written a book that separates the sheep from the goats. He is not merely talking about Republicans and Democrats. Paul shows the differences between the two major fundamental patterns of thought and political value systems that move America to the left or right, toward moral courage or to a culture based on death rather than life. In Feeding Lions, you can read an excellent description of the need to return back to the values which built America into the greatest nation in the history of humankind. Paul A. Ibbetson's excellent book is a call to renewal and you must get your own copy of a great book written by someone like you...someone who tells the truth. Author Steven Clark Bradley

This review is from: Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World (Paperback)
A thought-provoking, well-written, and often humorous collection of articles can be found in "Feeding Lions: Sharing the Conservative Philosophy in a Politically Hostile World" by Paul Ibbetson.
Ibbetson has collected some of his most widely read articles in an easy-to-digest format that shares the overall conservative philosophy. More than preaching to the choir, Ibbetson's engaging and conversational style will appeal to both conservatives and liberals. Discussing such topics as: the Fairness Doctrine, the War on Terror, the Patriot Act, global warming, and border security, the author accurately and effectively presents the conservative worldview, how it differs from the liberal worldview, and how those differences shape world events. Included with these articles is additional commentary by the author, black and white photos, a selection of reader responses to some of Ibbetson's articles, a conservative website directory and a conservative radio directory. An absolute must read for anyone interested in politics, current events, or in understanding what conservatives truly think. "Feeding Lions" by Paul Ibbetson is just as brilliant as it is funny. |
