Most Helpful Customer Reviews

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Paul M. Dubuc on October 30, 2002
Format: Audio CD
The music on this CD was a help and encouragement for me during one of the darkest and most depressing times of my life. Music has different effect on different people but, for me at least, this helped where I hurt most. I still get a little choked up when I hear "Life is Hard (God is Good)". "Goodbye ... Hello", based on the theme of Jeremiah 29:11, helped me to let go of the past and hope in a better future. Unlike a lot of "uplifting" contemporary Christian music, these songs encouraged me to work through my feelings with the understanding that God is with me through the bad times and the good. I learned that God can give strength and courage in suffering that is more precious than quick deliverance; it prepares us to experience deeper levels of joy. Thank you, Pam Thum. And God bless you.

I had this CD long ago and loaned it to someone hurting who, apparently, still needs it. As she never returned it, it was time to replace it. The songs really are inspiring and extremely relevant and reality based.

I'm amazed every time I see Pam Thum's picture, b/c she looks so young to be able to express the kind of pain and healing in the depth she does in these songs.

Not that young people don't go through these kinds of things. I certainly did as a teen, but I've only known of THREE people in music or book form who have hit the nail on the head as well as Pam Thum did.

And she doesn't just talk about pain...her songs offer hope.

Great album. I'm surprised it's not in the stores any more.

Excellent.
