Virtuoso female jazz vocal performance; a new superstar!,

I had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of hearing Eve perform many years ago in a small club in Durham, NC, when I was a medical student at Duke. She must have been a young teenager at the time. I just wish I had been a record company executive, so I wouldn't have had to wait so long for this solo album! Many of the selections are jazz standards but arranged and interpreted in completely original ways. Eve is simply an incredible talent. Chip Crawford is also a superb pianist. I think I've listened to the "Lush Life" track at least a hundred times already!

I first saw Eve Cornelious when she and Chip were doing a stint at a hotel bar in Durham, She was so incredable I followed her around the NC Triangle area. I have both her CD's and the CD she sang on made by Ramsey Lewis. My only regret is that she has not made 10 more CD's so I could hear her rendition of alot more songs. She should be a commercial star.
