Excellent guide for the layperson,

This review is from: Feeling Dizzy: Understanding and Treating Vertigo, Dizziness, and Other Balance Disorders (Hardcover)
Blakley and Siegel do an excellent job of explaining dizziness in terms that are easy to understand for a person unfamiliar with medical terminology. I have Meniere's Disease, of which dizziness is a symptom, and this is the first book I turn to for reference. Its only drawback is that is isn't up-to-date on current treatments, which is, of course, impossible

I have been diagnosed with vertigo, and found the book to be very helpful, as to symptoms and possible causes. Thank you for a great book.

This is my "new" bible now. One has to do all the exercises to help oneself to overcome this problem! Also one needs to take a good "B-Complex" vitamin every other day!

An excellent handbook for one suffering with vertigo or other balance disorders. The book carefully explains the many causes of dizziness and introduces the reader to a variety of methods of coping. It explores peripheral vestibular disorders including brain tumors, meniere's disease, stroke, migraine, MS and systemic disorders. The book also discusses dizziness resulting from anxiety, phobias, depression and other possible causes. Medication, diet, surgery, hypnosis, biofeedback and other options are examined by the writers. My favorite and "best help" are the physical and mental exercises -- a very thorough book.
