5.0 out of 5 stars A Gift for Our Time! There ARE answers!, January 16, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Feeling and Healing Your Emotions (Paperback)
Feeling & Healing Your Emotions is an excellent book for understanding the importance of our emotions in growing to psychological wholeness and in living a happy and virtuous life. This book is helpful for persons suffering with many different symptoms and disorders including anger, depression, fear, anxiety, scrupulosity, obsessive compulsive symptoms, sexual disorders, emotional deprivation, difficulty with a relationship with God, repressive disorders and Emotional Deprivation Disorder (which is written about extensively in Healing the Unaffirmed by Baars & Terruwe). This book is written in an easy-to-read question and answer format and tackles many issues pertinent to our time. It is especially suited for a variety of readers - lay person and professional alike. I highly recommend this book along with all other books by Conrad Baars, MD and Anna Terruwe, MD. This book was edited and revised in 2003.

5.0 out of 5 stars Catholic Understanding of Emotions, June 19, 2006
Excellent, excellent, excellent - the missing link in Catholic thought and understanding of the person. I believe Dr Baars work in this book and his other books, "Born Only Once" and "Psychic Wholeness and Healing", is the key to the complete understanding of the 'person' - in addition to our present knowledge of the role and functioning of intellect and will. What Baars discusses about 'affirmation' ties in directly with the discussions of John Paul II in Theology of the Body about the discovery of the heart. Dr Baars books are an absolute 'study' for modern Catholics - especially parents, educators, homeschoolers and those who feel wounded but can't tell how to heal...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Treatise on the Emotions, January 1, 2006
Dr. Baars' work is a wonderful examination of emotions, with a Christian/Thomist twist. A great read, especially for Christians who desire a better understanding of the emotions and want a way to integrate and use them more maturely in life. Anything by Dr. Baars is good, but this book is particularly wonderful. He avoids using too much technical language, and explains the concepts thoroughly. This is definitely for the average reader, and I will recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about Christian psychology.
