5.0 out of 5 stars Classic album, very romantic, June 6, 2006
This review is from: Feels So Right (Audio CD)
This album was the follow-up to their debut, My home's in Alabama, which yielded the first two of over forty country number one hits. This fared better, with three number one country hits that also did well in the American pop charts, although a serious attempt at a UK pop breakthrough failed.

The three singles were Feels so right (perhaps the best love song they ever recorded), Love in the first degree (not to be confused with a completely different song of the same title by the British pop trio, Bananarama) and Old flame, all of them outstanding love songs, typical of most of the album.

The one song that contrasts sharply with the love songs is Ride the train, an upbeat song reminiscing about a bygone age. Trains are not a common theme in Alabama's songs, but this is a classic.

Alabama have recorded many fine albums, but this is a classic. If you enjoy romantic music in a country style with a rock edge, you will surely love this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS CD!!!!, January 23, 2003

This is one of my very favorite CDs. Every single song is great, and I could listen to any one of them all day long. I'm 20 years old, so I wasn't even born yet when this CD came out. The music is just timeless. Awesome work boys!

5.0 out of 5 stars With out question, one of the best from Randy, Teddy and Jef, August 26, 1999

This is one of my favorites from the boys. If you ever get to experiance them live, to watch them do "OLD FLAME" is one thing, when all the lighters get to going and the fans start to sway. But when Randy throws it into low gear with "Feels so right", grab your want to be with and hold on tight. Your about to go for the ride of your life.

Firstly as a disclaimer, I am expressing my view only from personal taste and not as any expert. I have a varied taste in music as well and don't live in one particular genre. I first purchase this album on vinyl many, many, years ago. It is my preferred and only Alabama album. The love songs on this album are exceptional. Some of my favorite poetry includes, 'lying here beside you, I hear the echo of your sighs', 'while strolling through her mind, she stumbled on an old familiar feeling', ' but it's not the bottom, just part of a long hard fall', 'our love, a fading memory, as I chase another down', 'there's an old flame burning in your eyes, that tears can't drown and makeup can't disguise'. There's new love, lost love, forgotten love available on this album. And that is why it's been in my collection for so long.
