4.0 out of 5 stars Great for toddler sensory development...but
This book has many interesting textures and colorful pictures. Kids love it...but, so you know, the drawbacks are: 1. kids will yank out the feathers on the feathery bug page 2. if you have a "busy" child they will likely tear the pages. The pages have gaping areas where the textures come through; great for little fingers to YANK! 3. There is NO story line at...

3.0 out of 5 stars Big texture, little text
Buy this book for the textures, not the text. Unlike prior Bug books that we own, there are no clever popups and little that is clever about the text. There are a good variety of unusual textures and for my son, that is enough. Note that the sticky bug page was disappointing. After the first reading, my 17-month old had stripped two of the four Peel Me stickers from...

The pages have gaping areas where the textures come through; great for little fingers to YANK! 3. 5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!, December 14, 2001
By
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
This book is about touching and feeling and textures. What a great idea! My son (age 2) still loves this book and now he loves sharing it with his little sister (9 months). He helps her feel the sticky bugs and tells her 'soft' on the velvety bugs. What a simple idea that makes for a lot of fun.

I like books that you can build on. I like the fact that we talk about how my new Christmas dress feels like his velvety bug or the lace on my daughters collar is the same as the lace in the book only a different color.

Great.

I began taking care of a little boy when he was just over a year old and from the first day when he pulled this book out, until almost 2 years later, it's STILL his all-time favorite book! He absolutely loves to feel all of the different textures and blow on the feathers! This book is always his first choice, even though we've probably read it at least 100 times. He still loves it and yes, especially the CRINKLY BUG!! Coming in second are the sticky bugs! I would recommend it to all parents and nannies!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best baby Book, December 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
A friend gave me this book as a baby gift when my son was 2 months old. I thought he was too young for it as the recommended age is 3-5. He loves this book. He loves touching the pages and learned how to turn the pages of the book by 6 months. This is a great book. As a pediatrician and mom, i would recommend it both for my son's love for it and the experience of the different textures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite book of all!, April 15, 2000
By
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
We bought this book for our son when he was 12 months old and it's definitely his favorite book of all. The colors and textures keep his attention and I am able to work with him on his colors and words at the same time, while not being overwhelmed by so much on the page like so many other books. His favorite is wrinkly bugs... he loves to lick it. Please watch them with the book, as many have said there are parts that can come loose and be a choking hazard.

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter's all time favorite book, December 18, 2001

My daughter got this book as a gift when she was just a few months old and it is her all time favorite book which with the amount of books she has is saying alot. She has lots of touchy feely books but this one is the one she always asks for. Our copy is getting dogeared but it has held up well for such a loved book. I am not a big fan of bugs and cannot really explain her extraordinary devotion to this book. She just loves it and that is good enough for me. By the way she loves all of the bug books in this series. Check out Bugs that go Bump in the Night with the cool bug mask in the back.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book my daughter had at one year old, May 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
My little girl got this book from my mother at her first birthday. She is now a little more than two and she still loves it. The spine of the book is almost totally worn out. My eight month old baby likes to look at it too. We really love this book. I think it is our favorite. Allison loves to blow the feathers of the feathery bug, and the bristly bug gives her the creeps!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars So much Fun!!, March 8, 2005

My friends passed this book (and other Bugs in a box Books) along to me after her son regretably out grew the context of the books (age 7). I know he didn't really want to give away one of his favorite books but soon submitted to his mother. My daughter and I (she is 1.5 yrs old) read this specific book every night. She loves it! It is the greatest feely book we have and we have quite a few. It is well constructed and has a variety of textures for little hands. I alos like the size of the book. It is easy to sit on the bed with her on my crossed legs and have the book in front of us on the bed. She gets so excited when it is bed time because she knows we will be "reading" the Feely Bug book. Thanks Miranda and Simon for giving up one of your treasures to become one of ours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feely Bugs by: David A. Carter, November 18, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
Want your children to learn at an early age? "Feely Bugs" by David A. Carter, could be helpful to you.
Through this book, children will be able to identify different textures. I would recommend "Feely Bugs" to a younger audience, like 6-12 months.
If you're looking for a storybook that your child will be able to have fun with, "Feely Bugs" may be what you are looking for.
(...) this book appeals to my senses. It is a book that I would enjoy reading to small children.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 month old's favorite book!, December 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) (Hardcover)
My 10 month old LOVES this book. It is the only one she consistently pulls from the bookshelf and pages through. As other reviewers have noted, parental attention at this age is wise because the book has some small parts that could come loose. But even so, it's worth getting. My daughter loves it far more than any of the other "touch and feel" books she has. It's a winner!
