Peter Schilling is cosiderated by me, the actual real father of the techno music. In his songs Peter, mixed multiples instruments, of rock, techno and electric guitar. Peter invokes his echo metalic voice, the general sound is perfect. I listen his songs in one hundred number ocasions. His works are very EXCELENT.

Please don't miss TERRA TITANIC. It's the best Peter Schilling song. (In album: The diferent Story)

Those of you who would like to know what the US album release of "Major Tom" sounded like, before they released it in English... then here ya go! I actually prefer this version over the English "re-release", as the "flow" of the vocals seems to be better, since German was the original language all the songs were written in. One little bonus... for DJ's who would like to go back and forth between the German version and the English version of "Major Tom"... the two are EQ'd exactly the same. Enjoy. - jw

Major Tom was indeed written in German. David Bowie wrote a song called Space Oddity and a follow up several years later called Ashes to Ashes. He did NOT write a song called Major Tom. Peter Schilling took the character of Major Tom and wrote a song about him. I happen to think the German version is better.

This Major Tom is not the song David Bowie wrote is an homage to Bowie's song which is quite different.
Pete Schilling is an amazing song writer and brilliant musician Ive enjoyed his work for years. Even in German his songs have beauty to them.

I loved "Major Tom" the first time I heard it on vinyl. Now I remember buying the single on 45 rpm vinyl and on the flip side or side B it had "Major Tom -Part II" which was an orchestral/instrumental version of the original. Where in heavens can I find it? Is it in this cd "Fehler im System"? Help! By the way, I gave this album 3 stars just because it has the hit single on it.

I like Peter Schilling the first time I heard Major Tom (Coming Home). This German version is the only way to hear some of these songs on CD. I sure wish someone would reissue it in English.

I have this recording on Vinyl and it's a really great album by a really great artist! As much as I have it on LP format, I'm also hoping to buy it on CD when I can find it because I think it would go hand in hand if I had two different formats so that one is in the house and one I can listen to when I am out. I love all the songs from intro to end and especially "Fast Alles Konstruiert", which has a reggae feel to it.

Joseph Watt's review is ignorant. "Major Tom" was not originally written in German. David Bowie wrote the song, in English!
