You don't have to understand Portuguese to appreciate this woman's music! The Brasilian beat will carry you away, higher and leave you energized! Her great melodious voice carries strength and feeling beyond comprehension. EVERY song on this CD is fantastic!

I received this CD as a birthday gift from my Argentinian friend and I abso-freakin-lutely LOVE it! :D Although I don't speak or comprehend a word of Portuguese, I listen to this CD DAILY. Those of you on the road to getting fit, YOU NEED THIS CD! It is light, up-beat and very positive sounding and it has been really motivational for me to listen as I walk for an hour every day, when I work out, or even when I just need to relax and be mellow. I can't have enough POSITIVE things to say about Daniela Mercury's Feijao Com Arroz...in fact, all of her CDs are now on my ever-growing Wish List of Music! Definitely check this CD and this artist out!

What a great artist and album! I first heard her music 5 yrs ago through a friend in Brazil and fell in love with it. Feijao com arroz is by far her best one yet. Best songs have to be Nobre Vagabundo, Feijao de Corda, Minas com Bahia and Bate Couro. Buy it NOW!

Daniela's got it all and this album is the perfect example. The variety of rythms and the arrangements are absolutely awesome, her energy is peerless and the music cannot get any better. If you are into Brazilian Music, this is your album, don't let this jewel pass you by, purchase it immediately you'll love it as I have for a long time already.

This CD is large.If you listen to the Drums when Brazil play Football and you think of buying a Samba CD but don't know where to start,this is your first move.This CD was made for so many diffrent occasions -Driving by the Beach in a Ragtop,getting ready to go out and Light up the Night and for listening when your favorite Team gets knocked out of the Playoffs. I am American but recently traveled to Brazil (2nd time) but 1st time in 28 years. I heard parts of this CD on a beach in Guaruja at night sipping a vitamina. Bought it, love it. Want more!

She takes over where Gal Costa left off

This CD is one of the best CD's of all time. You don't even have to speak portuguese to get lost in its magic. The music, the songwriting, the singing, the artistry is spectacular. It's like a grand Broadway Production, Brazilian style- with its haunting precussions and mesmerizing vocal performances. It's a tapestry for the soul and a colorful portrayal of the Brazilian culture- in all of its forms and styles. This is a musical event for anyone and everyone who loves music. Just close your eyes, take a deep breathe, hold on for dear life and let the rhythms sweep you into the SAMBA stratosphere.

Feijao com arroz es uno de los mejores discos que ha sacado Daniela Mercury. No tiene desperdicio! Y lo mejor de todo es escucharlo y disfrutarlo en vivo con Daniela cantando en el trio eléctrico en el carnaval de Salvador de Bahía. Son una emoción y una alegría indescriptibles que sólo se pueden sentir estando allí. No se lo pierdan! Nunca se lo olvidarán!

This cd is great!!! I lived in Salvador and Mercury captures the flavor of the city beautifully. This cd stays true to the roots of samba while adding other rhythms as well. I wasnt her biggest fan but this cd has converted me.

I saw Daniella last summer in Miami promoting this CD and it is by far the best concert I have ever seen, I danced samba all night, being American I love everything Brasilian, especially Daniella who slways seems to sum up the spirit of the Brasilian culture in her music. Her style is unmatched by anyone, whereever they are from.
