4.0 out of 5 stars saw blade Fein?
I've used the flush cut saw blades for a couple of years to open painted windows in old houses and have discovered the blades just don't hold up. Hopefully the new ones will hold up better but I would expect more from a company that make such a heavy duty tool. I am about to try the metal cutting blade (flush cut) and hope it doesn't clog up. Why doesn't toolcrib...

2.0 out of 5 stars Convenience but no Quality
I love/hate this blade along with the Fein sander. The tool and blades like this are so convenient; they get you in tight places, allowing a lot of control, but this blade, along with the e-cut blades are...poor value for the money. They are not bi-metal like good recip blades, or carbide, like good saw blades, they're just plain steel, and they don't last. I have a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Convenience but no Quality, December 2, 2002

I love/hate this blade along with the Fein sander. The tool and blades like this are so convenient; they get you in tight places, allowing a lot of control, but this blade, along with the e-cut blades are...poor value for the money. They are not bi-metal like good recip blades, or carbide, like good saw blades, they're just plain steel, and they don't last. I have a table saw blade, I paid [$$$] for, but it'll last a lifetime, because it's good quality carbide, and it can be sharpened. As for blades like this one, if you're a contractor like me, you better have a big markup for overhead, because these babies are going to cost you. I actually took my complaint to the company; the rep I emailed said they pleaded with the manufacturers in Germany to make the price more reasonable, but to no avail.

3.0 out of 5 stars love/hate continues, October 8, 2004
This review is from: Fein 63502106015 3-1/8-Inch High Speed Steel Segmented Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
This product and all its attachments are great examples of the creativity of German Craftsmen. They all do what they are intended to do, BUT they don't last. The quality of the blades and other accessories belie the above statement.

I have been using these tools for over 3 years, and every time I do ,I say a prayer that someone/ anyone will improve on the quality! Maybe Festool will. They seem to get it and are building products anyone will be proud to own!

You might think this blade is made of solid gold for the price Fien wants for it, but it's not. If it was solid gold it would be cheaper! Go on E-Bay and search for Fein blades at a reasonable price and don't waste your money here.

I'd like to agree with the other reviews on Fein: great tool funky blades. Can Lenox or Starett make blades for the MultiMaster?

All the reviews of this and similar Fein blades are true; they cost a lot and they are fragile and easy to break. I am now faced with the prospect of replacing some of my broken and dull blades and I am willing to pay the price because I must. I have invested over a thousand dollars in blades and sandpaper for the Multimaster and the capabilities that having this kit gives me are too numerous to mention. My advice is to use this particular blade as a last resort, those few instances when no other method can perform the task without risk of peripheral damage to the valuable stuff that we tradesmen and tradeswomen have to cut into. Fein blades are like auto insurance; they are an expensive burden when you don't need them but when you do, you will be very glad that you have them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware, this as fragile as a potatoe chip, August 31, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this blade to replace the one that came with the kit. When I tried to install it the blade must have been just a little off center. As soon as I put pressure on it, the blade shattered into a dozen pieces. I haven't used the new one yet, I am afraid of breaking it too.

3.0 out of 5 stars not for plaster!, January 21, 2010
This review is from: Fein 63502106015 3-1/8-Inch High Speed Steel Segmented Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
This works excellent in the proper situations, but be sure it's drywall you're going through, NOT a well done plaster job. Plaster will take the teeth off this blade faster than you can say "oh crud!"
This is a tool worth its weight in gold in certain situations.

5.0 out of 5 stars They are able to be repaired, December 20, 2008
This review is from: Fein 63502106015 3-1/8-Inch High Speed Steel Segmented Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I found these blades to be somewhat fragile also. I accidently vibrated the center "teeth" out of the blade. I just clamped the blade to a piece of dull brass plate with a 2" slice of pipe to protect the blade teeth. I then filled the entire hole with silver solder, the hard stuff. Keep the heat on the edges of the hole. No flux. The solder wont stick to dull unprepared brass. When it is cool some sanding to flatten the solder plug. put another blade over it and mark the serations and hole. use a small 5/32 drill bit and drill out each one of the seration marks. At this point you can remove the center in many ways, but I recommend grinding with a handheld rotary tool. cut each of the holes in the center. You dont have to be all that accurate about any of this to be successful. it will fit right on and all it takes for time is about 1/2 hour. These blades can be resharpened as well. Breaking this blade can be avoided by being sensitive to how the tool feels while you are cutting. The audible report they issue when being bent or side pressured is very definite, you just need to listen,

3.0 out of 5 stars Where is Makita when you need them?, July 13, 2009
This review is from: Fein 63502106015 3-1/8-Inch High Speed Steel Segmented Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love using this tool but for 3 things:
Brittle blade - my first one shattered when the tool it was mounted to hit the concrete floor.
Breath taking accessory prices.
The blade lock lever is too stiff for my small hands - it will snap shut breaking fingernails.
