I bought this from Amazon which had the best price and a reputation for service if ever needed. The Fein Quick-In FSC 2.00-IS Interior set (by Amazon) is called by Fein - Fein SuperCut Construction FSC 2.0 Q. The "Q" is for quick change of the various blades, etc. There are several older versions. They differ mainly on power (the Multi-Masters -200 watt vs. the "Q's" 400 watt motor) and how the cutter is changed. On the older version an Allen wrench is used to unscrew the center cap, which holds the cutter in a grooved holder. On the "Q" there is a lever on top of the unit. When it is flipped forward the center cap is easily removed, the cutter changed, the cap replaced and the lever pulled back to a lock position. The cutter can be locked into numerous positions for cutting. Cutter change is fast, much easier and less tedious. Be sure to get the "Q" one - it's the latest one with all of the improvements. One very important note. While the unit comes with an assortment of blades, the time will come when new ones are needed. You must get the ones labeled "SuperCut" somewhere in their description. Only these blades will fit the Fein Quick-In FSC 2.00-IS, which Fein calls the SuperCut Constuction. If you buy the ones not labelled "SuperCut" they are for earlier versions of this saw from the MultiMaster series. To use them you must purchase the adapter. The attachment holes are larger on the SuperCut.

Having just gotten this unit, I have only used it once so far. It is a very smooth operator. I used it to cut an aluminum-framed window to a precise measurement. The tool is smooth and vibration free. The metal cutting blades have a max speed rating that they are to be used at, which is "4" on the speed control dial. The tool is too new for me to respond to the blade life issue.

(edited 1/20/13 - fix a few minor errata)
(edited 1/22/13 - information about the FSC1.6Q and FSC1.6X)
(edited 1/23/13 - added a few comments)

What a pleasure.

Steve in Gainesville has a few errors in his rundown, which I'll correct here, for clarity sake.

There are essentially seven Fein Oscillating tools. There is the MultiMaster FMM250, the MultiMaster FMM250Q in cord and cordless, the SuperCut FSC2.0Q and the SuperCut cordless (which I don't know the correct number of). There is also a Supercut FSC1.6Q and FSC1.6X, both have been superseded by the 2.0.
There may yet be some short lived version of the MultiMaster that I didn't find out about, or some obscure niche market Fein oscillating tool. The ones I just mentioned are the most "mainstream" and the ones you can get information on.

The SuperCut is the 400w tool, comes in corded, and cordless, and to the best of my knowledge, all of them were Q's meaning Quick Change blades, except for the FSC1.6x, which uses a screw like the FMM250. The Supercut tools accept blades with larger apertures than the MultiMaster type.

The 1.6 has a 1.6 degree cutter arc, the 2.0 has a 2.0 degree cutter arc. The FSC1.6x tool has no quick disconnect on the blade, while the FSC1.6Q and all FSC2.0 tools (cord and cordless) have the quick disconnect blade. The 1.6 version and 2.0 version have the same 400w motor, same oscillation speed ranges.

The MultiMaster is the 250w tool, and there is a Q and non-Q version. Currently, they only offer the Q version. Its offered in corded and cordless. The non-Q has not been made for several years, but was offered on closeout up until late 2010 or so. There are no cordless non-Q Multimasters.

i built my house without this tool, and having owned one now for a few weeks can't believe how much agony having this amazing machine would have saved me. I am remodeling an old house, and now use it for everything - cutting holes in a roof, squares out of a floor, helping a piece of plywood that i cut a little two big fit, surgically removing a piece of compromised wood from a tight spot, etc. This is the most expensive tool you will buy, but i tried other ones, and just found them to be cheap. This is a very solid machine. Definitely get the quick release, and i opted for a non-battery version - it is lighter, and they give a very long cord, so i have not regretted that decision.

I've got the Bosch version of this thing and find myself using it all the time, but it gets pretty choked up when confronted with metal. Even a 1/4" bolt will take it quite a while for it to chew through, and the blade is pretty much toast when it finally comes out the other side. Lack of power is one malady the Supercut does not suffer from. If anything, it has too much of it as very few blades out there are capable of withstanding speeds above the "4" on the dial. "6" is honestly pretty insane, but there are always times when you're willing to melt a blade in exchange for getting out of an uncomfortable or dangerous situation faster, so it's not entirely pointless to have these burnout speeds available to you. Rest assured, the motor can take it even if the blade can't.

Blade changes are a little more difficult than they seem like they will be. Lifting the little lever up takes a somewhat surprising amount of effort and getting the end cap free can be a bit fidgety as it doesn't always want to come out. The benefit is of course that the blade will be held incredibly securely and you probably won't pinch the palm of your hand as you close it up the way you can with other manufacturers' tool-free mounting systems.

The sanding pads are kind of a joke. If you have no detail sander to speak of, this will do in a pinch, but if your primary interest is sanding, you can do much, much, much better with a Festool that offers real dust extraction. The carbide rasp is really the only triangle pad worth keeping handy--I just chucked the sanding head in the trash, myself.

As a cutter, it can chug through most common building materials as quickly as a jigsaw in places no jigsaw could ever actually go.
