My husband and I have Feit CFL light bulbs throughout our house. These 23 watt CFLs work wonderfully and produce the same amount of light as a standard 100 watt incandescent bulb. They use 75 percent less energy and last 7 times longer.

COST-EFFECTIVENESS:
The average life of a CFL bulb (compact fluorescent light bulb) is 6,000 hours minimum OR 10,000 hours maximum. The average life of an incandescent bulb is 1,000 hours. So you would have to buy approximately 8 incandescent bulbs to the get the equivalent of 1 CFL bulb.

When a CFL bulb's packaging says that it will last "up to 9 years" that is based on using the bulb for only 3 hours a day (the industry standard for average household use) at the maximum average life of the bulb (10,000 hours) and when the packaging says that the bulb will last "up to 7 years" that is also based on using the bulb for only 3 hours a day, but at an average life of 8,000 hours (the middle ground between the minimum average life of 6,000 hours and the maximum average life of 10,000 hours of a CFL bulb). If in the course of every 24 hour day you use a CFL bulb for 16 waking hours and shut it off for 8 hours of sleep, the 8,000 hour average life span of the bulb will last you 500 days (approximately 1 year and 5 months). For 8,000 hours of use, one of these CFL bulbs costs you $11.27 in purchase price + $20.24 in energy costs for a total of $31.51.

On the other hand, if in the course of every 24 hour day you use an incandescent bulb for 16 waking hours and shut it off for 8 hours of sleep, its 1,000 hour average life span will last you only 62 ½ days (approximately 2 months 8 ½ days).

I am very pleased with my purchase, I like I am almost always with AMAZON.com.
Item came quickly and works great. I will buy it again. It's surprising to receive
a light bulb that is not broken. Very Happy.

I wanted a light that was bright but not too harsh. This light definitely pumps out a lot of lumens, but the light is quite harsh. Might be good for outside use but definitely want to steer clear from using it uncovered inside.
