These are the best incandescent bulb made...they last a long time and even have a brass base, so they don't get stuck (like aluminum) when you DO need to change them. I LOVE the warm glow these offer (vs flourescent), and there is nothing about them I do not like...

I purchased these for my daughter and son-in-law, along with several other things, the thing that I like is that these are considered a household bulb, but they have an extended life.

Also, as a household bulb, they have no mercury in them, which is bad for the environment.

Twenty years ago, when I moved into my home, I replaced all the light bulbs with Decade bulbs. They are built heavier, and turn on & off just a bit slower than the average light bulb, thus making them last for years. Many are still in use in my home, with only the living room ones needing replacement at the ten year mark! I am renovating a small farm house to live in so am buying more of these bulbs. They save me time & trouble, because I used to replace my living room bulbs every month, and I don't like having more work. I find these reliable, cost effective and a very good product. At work we have the flourescent bulbs, but due to people turning them off and on, they have not lasted the seven years lifespan ... turning them on and off shortens their lifespan: not so with these bulbs. So you may try some & see for yourself how pleasant the light is, & how useful these are.

I think that this is a great product! I don't enjoy having to change burned-out lightbulbs frequently. Given the recent government-mandated switch to compact fluorescent bulbs, I feared that I would have to run my heating system more in the winter (I prefer to leave my incandescent lighting turned on, for both light and warmth in my mild climate), and would encounter environmental/disposal problems related to the mercury in flourescent bulbs. This product has solved my problems--it allows me to escape frequent climbing associated with bulb replacements, and also allows me to use non-toxic lightbulbs that provide some heat in addition to light.
