Feit Electric 65 W Replacement

I bought 2 packs of these from Costco. First impression was that they took a long time to "warm up." I have bought Feit CFLs from Costco for much of my home, and while the 60W replacements with twisted glass have held up well, I have had trouble with unexpectedly high mortality rates on these bulbs as well as the 100W plain replacements and the G25 "globe" replacements. Half of the R-30s have failed within a year. All of the G25s failed within a year, and half of their replacements have as well. I'm happy with the turn-on times for the plain bulbs, but not so with these R30s and the G25s. Initially they take about a minute to reach full brightness, and one year later, 2 of the 6 that are left start with a deep purple color, and all of them take almost 2 minutes to reach full brightness. These bulbs are installed in recessed kitchen floods pointed straight down - the orientation required in the fine print on their packaging. As they burn out in the kitchen, I'm replacing them with the original incandescent bulbs I removed. Finally, I'm sad because they contain mercury, and I feel that they have cost more in environmental impact rather than less. I wanted to do one thing but wound up doing the opposite. I will keep a keen eye on the development of LED lighting, but I've had enough of Feit CFLs.

As with the other reviewer I bought at Costco. They take awhile to light up and they last a very short period of time. What a waste of money. Also used them as spots in the kitchen. Will not buy again

can't believe that they can advertise such long life when it is not close to 10000 hours. Maybe 2000 hours but i can tell you that it is false advertising and i can't wait for a better product.

Use these about 2 hours a day. Burned out in 8 months.
Too expensive to get any kind of return on saving electricity.
Someone should file a class action against ALL cfl manufacturers for falsely claiming long life.
