One of the lamps worked. The other one did not. Had a rattling noise inside. I didn't send in for return I'll just pick up another at the local hardware. store.

I received 3 two packs of these bulbs unbroken and on time in January 2011. They work. They cost 50% of the same wattage bulbs at the local stores but those were either GE or Phillips brands.

I'll try to follow up with a more useful report about how long they last.

Sept. 2011 update: 3 of the 5 bulbs in service have already burned out. They don't seem to last any longer than the standard 1500 hour bulbs I had been using. The GE halogen "4 year" 90 watt bulbs last several years but they are large and get very hot. I just replaced my 6 kitchen can light halogens with 950 lumen 17 watt EcoSmart LED floods. Hopefully, they will work as advertised. They don't dim all the way down like incandescents, are cooler than halogens but still too hot to touch, and the light quality is acceptable. They cost me $38 each and have a 5 year warranty. I should break even on them after about 2 years.

I purchased 4 bulbs (2 2-packs). Only 3 of them worked right out of the undamaged boxes. It's not worth the mailing cost to send it back, assuming they would even take it back. I'll buy these at the supermarket from now on.
