I purchased these bulbs as a replacement for a small Lava Lamp which was given to me by a Google Executive after I hacked Gmail back in January 2005.

The light bulbs work perfectly for giving light, but do not get hot enough to make the lamp function properly. I guess they are just more efficient than the one they replaced.

Should be fine for lighting applications, not so fine for Lava Lamps.

For wall-mount vent/hood microwaves by "The White Consolidated Industries", especially General Electric.

This bulb is the same length as the factory 40Watt bulb and fits just fine.

These bulbs are strong enough to be removed even if partially crusted by the microwave innards or plastic melt.

-2 stars for very low light output. These are not really useful. You may have some other appliance or device to use these in, but the light output is not sufficient for an over the range microwave of any height.

-1 star due to short lifespan on these bulbs. They're not subjected to vibration or heat. My best guess is that they are designed to require frequent replacement. Lifespan is 1000 hours.

Bought this for my lava-lamp. Initially it worked, however over the course of 2-3 days, the filament out-gassed, and deposited a reflective coating on the inside of the bulb - making the light and heat given off lower and lower. Returned for a full refund.
