The color of this fluorescent mini bulb is a true orange compared to the red fluorescent mini bulb (which I bought as well). This bulb really sets the mood and tone of a room. The bulb will be primarily used for the Halloween/Autumn season. I would definately recommend this bulb for any season.

I have bought the red, orange, and yellow bulbs. I find two advantages of using these colored bulbs. I think people feel more relaxed with light from the red to yellow portion of the spectrum as opposed to blue. I think this may be genetic due to sunlight and fire as opposed to the blue light of night. In addition, the more one moves toward the red end of the spectrum and away from the blue, the more night vision is preserved.

I use the yellow in most rooms, the orange in the bedroom, and the red in the bath for use at night. The red also makes a great night-light.

This has a nice orange glow that looks like a heating element but it stays cool. I use it to light up the animal den at night. I didn't want to use red. Orange is also good for animal night vision and looks nicer too. This bulb lights up pretty good and uses very little electricity.

Being female, in my sixties, having trouble falling asleep, and resisting the urge to take medications, I bought this bulb and placed one in each of the lamps by our chairs in the living room. My husband and I enjoy the soft glow this bulb produces, and we do feel sleepy earlier and fall asleep easier after sitting near this bulb in the evening while watching T.V. However, it does not give off enough light to read by, so we have to switch back to regular bulbs in order to read in the evenings.

I saw on Dr. Oz that orange light before bed helps fall asleep faster. It works for me, but I think I need a little higher wattage, so it's easier to read using orange light.

I bought a couple of these orange bulbs recently for my outdoor house light. I like the orange for when lit they cast a warm inviting glow that gives just enough light without being overbearing. (And it really does look orange, unlike some other incandescent orange bulbs that look more red or yellow when lit). It's softer and of course darker than the common yellow bug lights, and much more attractive in my opinion. This is supposed to be a 60 watt equivalent of an ordinary bulb, while using only 13 watts of energy, and it appears that that comparison to me is pretty close as to the brightness observed. They are rated for lasting up to 8000 hours and a very good deal considering that kind of long life...

Unfortunately this is one of the very few times I have to find myself suggesting you shop outside of Amazon for something. These bulbs together with the shipping charge cost over twice as much as what they can be bought for at the local Home Depot here. I paid $4.95 each at the time of this writing at the Depot. I also took note while there that all the other colors available on Amazon were presently in stock as well). Although you can save a lot on shipping with the purchase of multiple bulbs, (and in most cases the sales tax too), that still doesn't change the fact that as of this writing these bulbs are going for double the price presently at the Home Depot. I highly recommend the bulbs themselves. They cast a very attractive inviting light and there are no real downside to them. (Just don't expect 60 watts of light that you are used to in a clear bulb. The color dims the output quite a bit). However unless the price of them here on Amazon happens to change, I would suggest you fetch them at your local Home Depot, and only use Amazon if there is no other alternative...

Great product. Nice color. (Gator fans). However, found the same thing cheaper at Home Depot the next week.
