Finding these bulbs was a pain in the neck. I bought a Kenmore microwave at Sears and couldn't find the replacement bulbs anywhere once my bulb burned out. Got lucky and found them on Amazon. If you have a Kenmore Elite microwave, these bulbs will work with it.

The owner's manual for our Kenmore Elite (model 721.8083) Microwave had no information for the cooktop light bulb. There was no information on the bulb either. One of the Amazon reviewers said this worked in his Kenmore Elite, so I bought this one. Thanks! It works great and is brighter than the stock bulb. I cannot find a wattage rating on the old bulb, the microwave, or the owner's manual. I suspect the stock bulb was lower wattage. I like the extra wattage of this bulb and the dimmer works perfectly. I will report back if I have any issues with the brighter bulb. The package says 120V, 35 watts, 2,000 hours, and "GY8.6 base". It also says "G8.6" near the pin description. The 8.6 must be the pin spacing. The pins measure about 8.5mm, so I suspect these are 8.6mm pin spacing. Maybe that was obvious to others but I just noticed it. While I have the calipers handy, I should also tell you the pins are 1mm diameter and 10mm long, just in case you are trying to figure out if this bulb will work in your microwave.

unless you want to replace it every 30 days. I purchased this on 12/12/11 received it on 12/14/11. On 1/19/12 the light mystically quit working, i.e., burnt out already. I don't use this lamp frequently and there would be no cause or reason for this light to quit working other than it is defective or its lifespan is only a fraction of the 2,000 hours advertised for this product. Don't buy this product. At $6.78 it is a complete waste of money.

I was looking for a 35W G8 base bulb for under the cabinet lighting. I could only find 20W bulbs with G8 base - at home depot and Amazon- then, I came upon this one. It is a 35W G8.6 and I ordered one to test if if would fit my G8 plug and it does. You just need to align it more and apply a bit of extra force to insert it into the slot. It works and has not blown out on me for the past two months. I came back to order more.

Extra tip: These tend to blow out faster when you handle them 'directly' with your fingers. The reason being that the 'oil' on your skin results in the added heating of these bulbs and they blow out faster than they should. When you swap out such bulbs don't let your skin touch the surface of the bulb, use a paper napkin or gloves to handle the new bulbs.

I couldn't be bothered to drive 6 miles to the Walmart, so I got this bad boy on Prime like a boss!
