Red light doesn't kill night vision
Easy to change colors
Bright enough to light about 5 feet away, whole room with the white light.
red could be a bit brighter
doesn't dispense coffee
However, be forewarned, just because it says night light on the package does NOT mean that it has a sensor and will turn off during the day.
I wanted a red night light, because red doesn't interrupt sleep patterns, and this works as long as I don't mind it being on all the time, day and night. Since it's LEDs, it should last a long time even being on all the time, so I am keeping it and using it.
If you want a similar light that has a sensor and will go off during the day, you have to buy their NL1 (this is the NL7).
BTW, I called the company for customer service and they were very helpful and very nice.
However, the description on the website fits, so I think it is just an incorrect picture. Nevertheless, I was pleased with the "#NL5" I received. The wall plug is on a commutator that allows you to rotate the light at a 360 degree angle parallel to the wall and the diffractor casing also rotates 360 degrees and one side is opaque, so that you can direct the light. The 3 LEDs are quite bright, so I found it helps to have the opaque side facing the front, making it a little easier on the eyes. However, if you need more light, you can angle the translucent side towards the ground while the opaque side shields the harsh light from your eyes at night.
Note that as is the case with all LED lights, they lose about 1/3 of their initial brightness after about a month of use, after which the output stays roughly constant for the remaining 50-100,000 hours of their life. Having the adjustable beam angle makes it easy to make adjustments after the initial brightness fades.
This light has a photocell which turns the light on and off and will even dim the light depending on the ambient light. However, I find Feit's dimmers a little insensitive. As is the case with the Theatre-style #NL6, these lights tend to remain lit when there is ample ambient light, but at least they are always on when you need them. The downside is that the lights may use more electric & burn out sooner than anticipated because they're often on when you don't need them.
Because of those minor quirks, I can only give this light 4 stars - but I certainly recommend it.Read more ›
First, I got two of these along with six other nightlights of a different design in a bulk "8 pack" for way way less than buying one individually, so please do yourself a favor and shop around for other ways this manufacturer packages their nightlights.
Second, the sensor is supposed to turn them off when your overhead lights are turned on, but neither of my theatre style lights turn off automatically. One even has two sixty watt bulbs burning about nine feet right above it, and it says on. A different design from the same manufacturer turns on and off perfectly in relationship to the indoor lighting.
The only way to get the theatre style to turn off is to shine a flashlight directly in the light sensor. So, well see about the 50,000 hours if my theatre lights stay on for five and a half years straight, because they never turn off.
Finally, these are just tall enough so that if I plug them directly into my wall outlet in the top plug, they render the bottom useless, and if I plug them into the bottom plug, they make it impossible to plug a three-prong plug into the top plug.
So, maybe some engineers need to get out of the theatre and do some redesign work here. At least I only paid about two dollars each for mine, and they do look neat when they're on, which is all the time.

The night light isn't auto sensored. Why would anyone want it to run 24/7?Published 20 hours ago by Derek Butler-Andersen

Well, it's a bright night light which is fine, but the sensor definitely does not work. The thing just stays on constantly. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Rachel
