Nowadays, we are experiencing a great change in the brazilian music scene. The music, at least the music that one can see on tv, is decreasing its quality, following the marketing and the media. It's very good to hear one of the best in Brazil: Noel Rosa, a genius that left a lot of good musics...This cd is really good...

Feitio Da Vila is an important collection for those who love and want to experience samba to the fullest. While the songs feature the traditional rhythms of samba they also speak of samba's political roots. Love of God, love of humanity and social justice are among the lyrical themes; other lyrics were written for pure fun and joy. Although Noel only lived to be twenty-six, the former premed student managed to write over two-hundred fifty sambas. The Feitio Da Vila CD is a samba essential. In the words of Noel: "Samba in reality, Does not come from the hill, nor from the city, And who bears a passion, Will feel that the samba then, Is born in the heart."
