5.0 out of 5 stars Left-Hand Specific Pruners, May 29, 2007

Felco pruners are often touted as the best, so I won't spend much time commenting on the quality of the pruners in general. In deciding on a pair I discovered they offered left-handed specific ones. I debated between those and the right-handed pair for small hands because my hands are small. I opted for the left-handed pair as I know the difference it makes to have left-hand specific scissors. I really notice the difference, especially cutting branches that are big enough to be verging on being worth pulling out the loppers. My ideal pair would be left-handed for small hands, but until they have those, these are fantastic. I highly recommend them -- they're worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tool for a Lifetime., August 9, 2008
I don't know why, but these pruners are listed under two different descriptions but are clearly the same product. I have already reviewed them under the other description but I am happy to reiterate my support of them. This is a quality tool that can easily be re-sharpened and parts replaced. I have had mine for over ten years and am convinced that unless I lose them they will outlive me! If you are left-handed these are an essential gardening tool. I don't know of another manufacturer of left-handed pruners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money if you're a serious gardener, April 4, 2006

If you're just starting off with gardening you don't need to spend the money on these. You'll do fine with a $5 pair of shears from Home Depot, and that way if you end up not doing much pruning you haven't wasted any money. However, if you're a serious gardener who does a lot of pruning you'll want a serious set of shears and these are the best. The action is smooth and tight and the blade is fantastic. I bought the F9 because I'm left-handed, but if you're like most lefties and you're already used to using regular right-handed shears, you may not see any big advantage to these.

5.0 out of 5 stars a lifetime tool, April 9, 2009
This review is from: Felco F-9 Classic Pruner for Left Handers (Lawn & Patio)
I bought mine in the 1980s. I never let anyone else use them. They have probably stayed close to the same price. I misplaced mine for about a year and thought they might have come out of my suitcase. I had taken them with me to do fine pruning for my daughter. I looked everywhere and finally found them in the kitchen. I am glad to have them back since they really do make a difference. I use these when I want to prune properly. These really are the best, and it is nice when left-handers don't have to settle for mediocre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best hand pruners, hands down., May 3, 2008
By
These pruners will last for as long as you can stand to take care of them. They are comfortable, durable, and trustworthy to cut through anything you can get the blade around (anything organic, that is). Complete disassembly for cleaning is easy and intuitive. I've used a pair at work for years and they keep going and going, so now that I'm on to a new job, I had to buy a pair of my own! They are completely worth the money, especially if they are going to get some heavy use.

This is an excellent tool: It cuts any branch well, it's comfortable in my hand, and I can get parts if I ever need them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Felco Classic Pruner for Left Handers F-9, January 13, 2011

I have this pruner for right hander (me) and have given it as a gift to several of my gardening friends. It is an excellent tool. Replacement parts are available, though I've never needed any. I like the idea that it is available for either dominant hand. I highly recommend this pruner for any gardener. It is much more forgiving to plants than an anvil pruner, which tends to crush rather than slice cleanly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leftie loves pruner!, September 12, 2010

I got this for a left-handed gardener that I grow with. She is so pleased to have a pruner that fits her hand well, and works for her. We have always used 'regular' clippers that are built for righties. I had no idea she was 'suffering' as it became clear with this gift. It's sturdy and she's been able to cut all kinds of branches with it.

Buy these instead of the junk at the garden center. With decent care, it'll be the last pair you'll ever buy. And your plants will appreciate the nice clean cuts!

Best pruner I ever used. Been using this pruner for over twenty years. The only left-handed pruner worth the price. Replaceable parts definitely a bonus. Only con is the spring can get knocked off and lost so order an extra.
