Useful book on how the Feldenkrais method works, April 26, 2008
This review is from: The Feldenkrais Method: Teaching by Handling (Paperback)
The Feldenkrais method is an amazing method of retraining the body. It can cure chronic muscular or joint pain, repetitive stress injuries (this was why I was led to it), or just cause you to have a more supple, stronger body ---all with no exercise or painful stretches.
This book is not an introduction to that method---the book by Moshe Feldenkrais called "Awareness through Movement" is the standard introduction. Or do a google search for "Feldenkrais FAQ". In fact, a book will rarely do justice to the method and the best introduction would be to take lessons from a good teacher.
But if you get intrigued about the method and begin to wonder about its technical details, this book is perhaps the most accessible account.
Rywerant was one of Feldenkrais's earliest students and is today in his 80s.

excellent, September 1, 2008

Excellent but advanced and highly technical. I would not recommend it for recently graduated practicians.
