Pedersen's "Feline Husbandry" is an excellent reference for the serious cat fancier. There are good overviews on feline health, disease, genetic defects, cattery health protocols, etc. This is an updated edition with an expanded discussion of the bane of cats everywhere, FIP. I'd recommend this text as required reading by anyone interested in the cat fancy.

I think this is the third one I've bought. I refer to it constantly - and get calls from people who know I have it. I even sent one to my vet. As Pederson explains - anyone with more than two or three cats is dealing with a multi-cat environment - a fact that both the cat owner and their vets need to acknowledge. Excellent section on setting up a cattery.

This book is one you need if you need detailed information. Except for behavior problems, there is everything you need to know about illnesses, breeding, kittening, genetics and other hard-to-find info. It has answered many of my questions to which I could find answers no where else.
