Feline medicine is an integral part of small animal and mixed animal practice, often accounting for 50% or more of the case load in small animal practices. The Feline Patient is the ideal clinical reference for busy practitioners wanting rapidly retrievable, concise information about feline diseases.

The new edition has been greatly expanded to cover more diseases and syndromes. Highlights include new sections on dermatology, ophthalmology, behavior, and dentistry; expanded formulary and surgery sections; and the most extensive collection of feline radiographs and ultrasound images ever published. Topics are organized alphabetically to facilitate quick access to diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic information - all tailored specifically to the unique needs of cats.

The editor of the book, a busy feline practitioner himself, understands the unique needs of feline patients and the desires of cat owners, and has designed this book to meet the needs of busy practitioners worldwide. Editorial Reviews

Review

“This is a comprehensive text on feline health and disease. A formidable volume that covers the gamut from the routine to the exotic, yet remains accessible to the busy practitioner who needs quick answers. Boasts one of the most inclusive collections of feline radiographic and ultrasonographic images available. Contains an impressive amount of detail … .This book will not quickly become outdated. Rather, it should remain the one feline reference that is least likely to be buried at the back of the shelf.” (Compendium, November 2008)

This review is from: The Feline Patient, 3rd Edition (Hardcover)
Systematic presentation and cover almost all important feline diseases. Good for quick reference by busy practitioner. This includes internal medicine, surgical procedures, radiology, ultrasound etc. Common poisonous plants' photograph are also included not only for vet but for owners to recognize. Clear and colored cytologic photographs also help in making diagnoses. This book is not so suitable for advanced academic purposes.

This review is from: The Feline Patient, 3rd Edition (Hardcover)
This book contains almost everything about diagnosing and treating diseases in cats. Where it falls short in my opinion is on prevention and nutrition. This book is a good reference if you have cats, or work with cats. It's written for vets though, so it's full of vet-jargon.
