1.0 out of 5 stars Not Recommended, November 8, 2010
This review is from: Felinestein: Pampering the Genius in Your Cat (Paperback)
I was expecting to learn about feline intelligence and ways to make my cat smarter.
With a subject like this, the author's first hand experience would be very beneficial. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong book. This is more like a term paper with little in the way of new and interesting information.

The author seemed to lack any real understanding of cats and their behavior. The underlying goal appeared to be writing a book that, by outward appearances, would sell to as many readers as possible.

I would not recommend it to anyone. Not even for the one cent price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money, November 4, 2011
This review is from: Felinestein: Pampering the Genius in Your Cat (Paperback)
I have to agree with the others. This was not a very interesting read. I will admit I skimmed through some of the parts I already knew and some of the tricks did seem a little far fetched. I still tried them on both of my cats but no success here. Much of the material has been covered in books I have read before.

All in all, I think I just expected too much from looking at the cover and buying the book on a whim. I would have preferred a more realistic approach to every day training / tricks and if there were any new revelations about cat intelligence, that would be great but none were found here.

I cannot say I would recommend Felinestein over the others available in the market today. Or at least don't make the same mistake I did by paying first, then finding out you picked the wrong one. Take the time up front to read a little more into it before wasting your hard earned money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs Down, June 12, 2011
This review is from: Felinestein: Pampering the Genius in Your Cat (Paperback)
This is one of the worst books I have ever read... on any subject. The concept intrigued me but what a letdown. Far too many "experts say" or "research has shown" references and no apparent first hand knowledge on the subject of cat behavior and intelligence. There are so many other books already on the market that give ideas for teaching your cat tricks. Some work, some don't. It all depends on you, your cat and the time you want to devote. Don't waste any of it on this book tbough.
